Rock Hill is a small town in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, United States. The population was 9,823 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Inverness County metropolitan area. The first coffee beans were grown in what is now Rock Hill in 1798 by George Washington's slave Peter Ross. The first coffee house in Rock Hill was built on Meeting Street in 1800 by John Baptiste de la Fayette and his family. In 1824, David Ladd opened the first retail store in Greenville. In 1886, Hepsibrook Coffee Company began business as a roasters and importers of Ethiopian coffee from Ethiopia. The current owner of Hepsibrook Coffee Company is Brewbound Coffee Roasters, Inc., based out of Spartanburg, SC. The company has been buying and selling roast types since it opened its doors in 2006. Brewbound Coffee Roasters also operates two cafes: one located on Broadwalk Avenue near US 41 and one on High Street near US 27/301 which are open 24/7 for customers to enjoy their fine cup of Joe!

Rock Hill is a town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 21,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rock Hill's history dates back to 1795 when a group of farmers purchased 1,000 acres (400 ha) of land in what is now Rock Hill Township. The first permanent settler in the township was Nathaniel Bacon who built a cabin on the current site of Village Hall in 1811. Rock Hill had its peak as an agricultural center during the late 1800s and early 1900s when it supplied much of Spartanburg County with coffee beans. In 1903, John Hargrave opened his first small grocery store in downtown Rock Hill and continued to operate until his death in 1951. In 1907, J C Pritchard opened another small grocery store near present day Magee Stadium which became known as “Pritchard’s” because it sold only pecans and other nuts from that specific location until 1924 when he moved his business to within walking distance of bothites Poplar Street Baptist Church and Jonesboro Road Baptist Church. In 1914, local grocer A W Dickson erected a two story brick building on Main Street for storage and retail operations for several businesses including Dickson’s Pharmacy and hardware store before becoming fully operational as an independent shop selling groceries direct to consumers beginning July 15th 1915 under the name “The Grocery Store Of Rock Hill” with manager G F Wills serving as head buyer throughout its inception until January 1916 when ownership passed into hands of Mr & Mrs Barnett who remain proprietors to this day Notwithstanding this initial success however, by 1917 stagecoach service between Greenville-Spartanburg had become available making it impossible for customers located outside of Spartanburg County to purchase goods at their local grocers without travelling considerable distances each time they wanted something specific - necessitating further development inside the ever expanding town limits! A new tax rate was levied against those purchasing more than $10 worth of food per year starting April 12th 1918 raising much outcry from citizens but ultimately proved successful in stimulating increased production by brewers within our community thereby leading to an increase not onlyin retail sales but also thru industrial output! With World War II raging on senior citizens were gradually being forced outOf their homes resulting In decreasing demand for fresh produce so prices went up accordingly; eventually resulting In discontinuing operation Of The Grocery Store Of Rockhill altogether On November 2nd 1945 When Manager G F Wills handed over ownership To His Wife Myrtle Prevost due To Liver Disease just one week shy Of Her 60th Birthday!!!
Rock Hill is a small town in South Carolina, located on the banks of the Elizabeth River. The population was 7,851 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1824 by white man and slaveholder John Rutherford. It became an open-air shopping center after nearby Columbia opened its first store there in 1928. The name "Rock Hill" comes from a white man's pronunciation of "quah-kuhl". Since the early 20th century, Rock Hill has been known for its significant industry: textile manufacturing. In 1915, General Motors began manufacturing cars here and continued until 2009; it closed down two factories in Rock Hill during that time. Other major employers include A&P Supermarkets (now Kroger) and Waffle House (now Starbucks). The town is home to one of the country's oldest United Methodist Churches, founded in 1827. It also has a Baptist church and several Seventh-day Adventist churches as well as Jehovah's Witnesses and Roman Catholics. In recent years, Rock Hill has seen increasing Hispanic settlement with refugees from Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and other parts of Latin America coming to work in various industries such as agriculture or construction. As a result of this growth, many businesses have started up to cater specifically to this community including restaurants like La Tienda Latinoamericana and Cafe Tacuba which offer Mexican food experiences not found elsewhere in South Carolina.

As a result of this change,Rock Hill's economy began to grow significantly over the next few decades.
