In 1976, Marines sent a gift to the people of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The gift was an extra large rifle, known as the M-1A1. This rifle was donated by Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California. The M-1A1 has been used by Marines throughout its history and is still in use today.
