As part of this campaign General Jackson ordered Lt colonel Alexander Hodge purchase 240 pounds sterling worth of goods including axes, baskets, potstery cups etc., all destined for use by his brigade within their march into Beaufort Castle precincts should it be captured without combatant or civilian casualties during or subsequent theretoabouts blockade accomplished thereby [emphasis added].
