Air Force deploys a variety of gifts to celebrate Christmas in Easley, South Carolina. The air force sends small items like cookies and candy to the homes of service members and their families during the holiday season. Additionally, the air force provides larger items like cannons and vehicles for children in local libraries. The history of this gift is significant because it began as a way for the military to show its support for local businesses during Christmas period. Beginning in 1949, the air force sent shopping bags filled with helium-filled balloons filled with gifts such as hats and mittens for members of the military. This was an initiative designed to help businesses promote themselves during this time when most people were focusing onChristmas gifts. Since then, the gift has become more popular among service members and their families. In 2009, a new tradition was started where all deployed personnel receive a 3-day supply of food including cold cereal, popcorn, sandwiches, pasta dishes and fruit snacks inside an airplane cargo container while they are stationed in Qatar. This allows servicemen and women to have some "down time" while they are away from home before returning home around New Year's Eve. The total value of these gifts totaled over $1 million in 2016 alone! Easley is a town in Kershaw County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. Easley is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Wilmington metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Easley were Cherokee Indians. There are several references to Indian settlement in Cherokee history. One reference mentions an uprising led by Chief Bowles against white settlers in 1786. A second reference mentions General James Wright's march on Easley from Spartanburg to Mullins during the Cherokee War of 1806. In 1811, Andrew Johnson was elected President of the United States and his administration ordered General Alexander McGhee's forces to march into Easley and burn all the homes and stores of the Cherokees living there. In 1865, Confederate general John C buyer laid siege to Union Fort Sumter near present day Columbia, South Carolina while supplies were being transported through that community for that fort. The Confederate force numbered about 10,000 men but they failed to take advantage of a lull in hostilities so that Union reinforcements arrived and successfully stormed the fort before retreating back across CSX Railroad tracks just outside of town limits hours later After Reconstruction ended many African Americans left South Carolina for northelvesting states such as Illinois or Maryland which offered better opportunities for education and job opportunities than southern slave states like Georgia or Alabama where racism still remained strong throughout most of the 20th century . Eventually much black families moved westward out of poverty stricken areas into newly created suburban neighborhoods founded along I-85 corridor between Atlanta/Fulton County (south) and Charlotte/Mecklenburg County (north). This migration also increased African American populations eastward into adjoining counties including Kershaw County where many early residents had originated from West Point District on Long Island City shoreline adjacent to New York City prior to European arrival in 1492 . Many descendants remain scattered throughout southeastern Kershaw Counties today with some located permanently within their original homes communities while others have relocated elsewhere since then due primarilyto changing economic conditions associated with major city growths such as Savannah / Hilton Head Island - directly adjacent Coastal Plain Lowcountry , Myrtle Beach - Southern Piedmont Triad immediately adjacent Lowcountry ; Wilmington - Northumberland Coasts Outer Banks; Elizabethtown - Cumberland Valley; Asheville - Buncombe Coasts Western Mountains etc., although a very small number reside permanently within their ancestral home communities
When the United States Air Force was formed in 1947, there were few if any gift history articles or archives available. The USAF had a long and varied history, with contributions from both active duty and Reserve members. However, when it came to gifts for service members in the field or in their home countries, there was little precedent. The USAF's first deployment came as part of Operation Overlord in 1944. A bomber squadron was sent to England as part of Allied air forces to bomb military targets and participate in the Battle of Britain. While on patrol over the North Sea, one of the squadron's planes met an RAF Lancaster Bomber flown by Lieutenant Donald Macdonald RCAF. This encounter led to a lifelong friendship between Macdonald and the pilots of his unit-the USAAF would nickname him "The Wingman". In 1946, another Squadron was sent to Europe as part of NATO's effort against Soviet Union during World War II known as The airborne Offensive . It flew combat missions from bases throughout NATO member countries , including several within Germany where they engaged in Operation Thunderclap . In 1950–1951 two squadrons were deployed overseas – one flying Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighters and the other flying Boeing P-47 Thunderbolt bombers . These deployments gave new life to old friendships that had been established during World War II; many pilots who served together during those years still maintain close relationships today. In 1957 a group of USAF officers traveled to Japan for top level meetings related to their country’s defense program which included visits TOKYO 0504/07 & 0910/57 (Joint Chiefs Meeting) - this trip is generally considered as marking beginning of USAFomiations presence in Japan In 1959 Air Force One made its first international flight when President Dwight D Eisenhower took off from Palm Beach International Airport aboard Air Force One en route Tokyo – this event marks end of Korean War era and beginning of American involvement with Japan

In 1947, the US Embassy in London created a special gift history program for its citizens, which included sending presents to British and Commonwealth diplomats living in America. Gifts continued to be sent throughout the Cold War era, as relations between the United States and various nations deteriorated. In 1995, President Bill Clinton announced that the USAF would no longer send gifts after having discontinued giving military assistance to various countries. However, this was short-lived; within a few years, USAF gift history had once again come back into play.
Easley is a town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,531 at the 2010 census. Easley is located on State Route 278 and is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Fayetteville Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was founded in 1892 by John W. Easley and named for him. Easley was known as "The Cotton Capital of the World" for its production of cotton crops that dominated the local economy until the early 20th century. In 1929, it became one of the first towns in America to prohibitionist laws when it passed an ordinance outlawing alcohol sales to people under 21 years old. The town prospered through a dry period from 1951 to 1960 before experiencing significant economic decline during Prohibition's resurgence which occurred from 1920 to 1933. However, by 1990s Easley had recovered some lost ground due to increasing industrial development along Interstate 95 and other changes in regional economic conditions throughout South Carolina since then that have led to more rapid growth; however, there are still large pockets of poverty and crime in much of its rural areas despite efforts by local officials over recent decades to address these issues head-on In 1892, John W. Easley arrived from Scotland with his family and founded what would become Easley on land he acquired near present day Greenville Ferry Road and Spartanburg Countylines Railway Station (now mile marker 278). At that time there were only two houses in town - both built by Mr. Easley himself - one on High Street between Governor Driscoll Boulevard and Industrial Avenue (the current location of Easley High School)and another on Ulysses S Grant Boulevard just south of present day UGA Campus off Interstate 95/SR 278 (the original site where Pritchard Bros Cleaners now stands). He started out small planting corn and potatoes on his property until he decided against farming because he found it too difficult work with all those trees! A year or so later he added tobacco seedlings into the mix Easley quickly realized that this kind of agriculture wasn't going to work long term because growing cotton required a lot more water thanproducing food did so Mr. Easley moved back home where he grew corn, soybeans, wheat, oats etc until 1906 when African Americans began coming into town as sharecroppers Mr. & Mrs Wiley bought their first house in 1909 They also raised chickens & pigs => meat products were also produced hereabouts till around 1930 etc As white people gradually replaced African Americans as workers on farms throughoutSouth Carolina starting around 1910 they ended up moving away most everyone else who had grown up hereabouts either out West or North like folks from Laurens,, Rock Hill,, Clemson etc... except for young John Wiley Jr., wife Gertrude & their 2 kids who stayed put… but we all changed our surnames at least once during our stay Eventually many families seceded from SC over taxes brought about by state government not wanting any more black residents living too close together

In 1812, after much negotiation and discussion between various landowners and the local government, Easley became its own incorporated city. The town's early growth came from textile production. After World War II, however, when manufacturing employment began to decline in South Carolina due to technological advances, Easley became one of the few U.S. cities not to experience significant economic development until recent decades. Its current economy revolves around services related to university students and other professional staff working in nearby Columbia or Charleston; tourism; and agricultural commodities such as corn and soybeans
