The earliest evidence that Coffee Roasters Incorporated existed can be found in 1892 when two men - Wm. Jubb & Sons (now Whitworth Coffee) - opened a grocery store in downtown Clemson with roastings by hand from small beans they gathered from around town. At first glance it may seem strange that such an early business would warrant a paper trail; after all, it would only be natural for these individuals to start selling their own product rather than using others’ products. However, because this business was operated out of door on Market Street near today’s Southeastern Christian University (SECU), there is little doubt that ownership changed hands at some point during this time period- most likely due to concerns about market saturation or other competition from larger players at the time. In 1916 Coffee Roasters leased space on Main Street from Jubb Brothers so that they could sell pre-packaged coffee direct to consumers through window displays across town (today known as SECU). It should be noted here that at this time no caffeine was added to commercially available coffee which left drinkers reliant on milk or sugar for energy drinks like soda pop! This arrangement lasted until 1934 when Coffee Roasters moved into their current location on First Avenue between Fountain Road and Grove Road! Throughout its long history Coffee Roasters has always been based on providing great customer service with competitive prices while also striving towards sustainability through responsible production practices including use of recycled materials where possible/possible donation programs/cooperative farming initiatives where necessary/. Claude "Uncle C" Amerson was Clemson's first head football coach. He led the Tigers to wins in 1927 and 1928, before being fired after a 3-7 season in 1929. Under new head coach Fielding H. Yost, Clemson compiled an 8-1 record from 1930 to 1933, before losing the 1934 Cotton Bowl Classic to Texas A&M. After a 5-3 campaign in 1935, Yost was dismissed for poor play and replaced by Gene Ducharme. Ducharme led Clemson to an undefeated seasons from 1936 through 1939, but lost the 1940 Sugar Bowl against Brown University. The 1941 team went 9-0 and won the SEC championship game; however they were ineligible for the College Football Playoff because they did not compete in the bowl game that year due to World War II service obligation. In 1942, freshman halfback Don Hutson became one of college football's first Heisman Trophy winners as he ran for 1,000 yards on 73 carries en route to leading Clemson to another undefeated season (11-0). The 1943 squad finished 10-2 and captured their second consecutive national championship with a 44–14 victory over Pittsburgh in Miami Gardens, Florida (the only time ever that Clemson had played at home). Hutson died during this season while serving in Europe with the U.S military; his death left Clemson without a Heisman Trophy winner until 1945 when Phil Simms took home the award following his Sophomore season at quarterback
