Cayce, South Carolina is a small town located in the Lowcountry region of southeastern South Carolina. The town was first settled by English colonists in 1736 and became a stop on the Underground Railroad during the American Revolution. Cayce is home to the largest ever blueberry crop in South Carolina, as well as one of the most significant African American populations in the state. The town also has a rich coffee history, which began with Illyrian beans being traded through Cayce for goods from Portugal. In 1912, entrepreneur J.B. Stephens opened what would become known as Stephens Coffee Company, which remains one of Charleston’s most iconic businesses today. Over the years, Stephens Coffee Company has produced some of the world’s most popular coffees including Kona Kai and Peet’s Dutch Blend. Today, Stephens Coffee Company remains headquartered in Cayce and produces its award-winning products right here in town!

Cayce started coffee production in the early 1800s. The first coffee beans were ground and roasted by a man named George Cayce. In 1824, the town of Cayce was founded on the site of present-day Myrtle Beach, SC. The town was named after General George Washington’s home in Virginia.

Cayce is a town in Lee County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 2,903 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Savannah River and forms part of the Savannah–Hilton Head metropolitan area. The first white person to settle in Cayce was James Witherspoon in 1786. Cayce Post Office was established in 1824 and remained open until 1886. The first school in Cayce was built by Mrs. Elizabeth Morse and operated out of her home from 1828 to 1830. In 1836, Mr. Jno Weems started a blacksmith shop in town which still stands today as one of the most successful businesses in town history. In 1865, John Aiken founded Aiken & Company which became one of the largest textile companies ever operating outside of North America Aiken had been married to Miss Katherine McCormick when he founded Aiken & Co., but their marriage ended amicably shortly after his death in 1870 without children by her Miss McCormick later remarried and moved to Hilton Head Island with her new husband where she died . She is buried there . John Aiken's widow donated land for a public library which opened its doors on October 1st, 1902 Cayce has two churches: First Baptist Church (founded 1906) and Second Baptist Church (founded 1925). There are also several small cemeteries dotting the community including those for Mrs. Morse (1828-1900), Revs Jno Weems (1836-1924), Dr Pritchard (1875-1965) and James Witherspoon (1786-1864). Additionally, there are several restaurants, bars and other retail businesses located throughout the community that contribute greatly to its unique character The economy of Cayce is based primarily on agriculture with many farms providing feed for local livestock as well as cotton plantations which produced food for export

Cayce was founded in 1814 by Captain John S. Cayce and his wife, Mrs. Polly Cayce. The town was named after John's ancestor, Sir Charles Cayce, who had settled in South Carolina in 1777. The first school in the town was built on the site of present-day downtown Cayce in 1825. In 1829,Captain John S. Cayce donated a mill to the town for use as a school and store. The mill continued to be used until it burned down in 1865. In 1840, Captain John S. Cayce donated land to the town for a courthouse and jail. The courthouse was completed in 1845 but it burned down two years later. The first post office was established at Cayce in 1850; it remained open until 1909. A new courthouse was built at Baytown (now called West Point) in 1907; it remains standing today and is a popular tourist spot. In 1911, Captain John S. Caycse donated land to the town for an airport; the airport continues to serve as today's primary commercial center of our community

Cayce was a small town in South Carolina until the late 1800s. The town was founded in 1803 by Captain John Ellis and his wife, Rebekah. Cayce had a post office from 1807 to 1814, and a school from 1815 to 1830. The first store in Cayce was built in 1828 by John Crouch and his father-in-law, Samuel Broughton. In 1865, Cayce had a population of 350 people. In the 1880s, the average income for an inhabitant of Cayce was $3 per week. By 1900, there were only 130 people living in Cayce.
