It is located on the Narragansett Bay coast and includes part of the Sandy Hook neighborhood of Providence. The townsite was first settled by fishermen in 1636. This hunting led eventually to Europe importing large quantities of moose antlers for fashioning bows before Native Americans began harvesting caribou meat for their own traditional dishes starting about 2400 BC according to historian David Rohde who writes that “a few grams or even ounces more than what we eat today could provide enough protein for an extended period without becoming harmful if ingested in high doses or if absorbed through contact with skin or mucous membranes”[4]. By 1600AD Europeans had begun trading with Native Americans through water routes using native languages like Pequot which facilitated trade due to shared waterskiing experiences between both groups[5].
