Yeadon is a small, rural town in Butler County, Pennsylvania. It is located on the Allegheny River and has a population of approximately 1,000 people. The area that makes up Yeadon was originally part of the township of North Union. On November 3, 1800, Yeadon became a separate incorporated borough. The first settler in what is now Yeadon was John Armstrong. He built his home on the banks of the river in 1802. In 1806, Samuel Tipton also moved to Yeadon and founded the community's first tavern, which still stands today. In 1828, members of the local Presbyterian church bought 2 acres (0.8 km2) along Beaver Creek for $1 per acre (3 €/km2). They named it Garden Township after their pastor's wife who had given them some land in that location. In 1850, John Fenton bought 95 acres (39 hectares) adjacent to Garden Township from David Brownell for $10 per acre ($435 per hectare). The following year he donated this land to build what would later become the town of Yeadon on its current site. The great majority of early settlers were farmers who grew corn and other crops as well as raising livestock; however, some also set up logging or quarrying operations within their areas of residence. As time passed more people migrated into Yeadon from surrounding communities; these newcomers gradually replaced those farming families who had originally been there since before 1800. Eventually most residents in Yaeddon were either born or raised here and have perpetuated their traditions and culture here to this day!

Yeadon is a town in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Reading Borough borough of Reading, Pennsylvania. The town was founded in 1795 by Colonel George Washington and his family as a farmstead on the Monongahela River. Yeadon became an incorporated town in 1853 and a city in 1898. The current name for the town, given to it by incorporation, comes from John Yeadon, one of its first citizens. He settled there in 1795 and served as justice of the peace from 1798 to 1800. In 1827 he donated land to make up what would become Yeadon Township. He also donated money for a school and library in that township. In 1850 Johnstown (now Altoona) was established as a small community nearby on the Susquehanna River; this community soon grew into an important steel center due to its location between two major rivers and its close proximity to major railroads. Steel production moved out of Johnstown during World War II because of wartime restrictions on steel production but continues today as part of Altoona's economy

It was named after John Yeadon, an early settler of that area. In 1875, the railroad arrived in Yeadon and began to bring residents and businesses to the town. By 1912, Yeadon had a post office and six churches. In that year, the first electric light was installed in Yeadon. In 1916-17, the town built a dam on Beaver Creek to store water for irrigation purposes; this dam remains in use today as part of the community's water supply.
