As central Pennsylvania grew more industrialized, Yeadon began to lose its importance as a commercial center. However, it still retained some significant economic capabilities through its printing industry and manufacturing sector. In recent decades, however, Yeadon has become increasingly renowned for its gourmet coffee scene – which is made up mostly of coffee roasters who source their beans from around the world). Yeadon was founded in 1795 by Nicholas G. Mackenzie and is the oldest coffee town in Pennsylvania. In 1836, John A. Roebuck opened a general store in Yeadon and began selling coffee beans from his home. In 1895, Isaac Basheer established The First National Coffee House in Yeadon and continues to serve as its namesake today.
Yeadon is a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The population was 1,816 at the 2010 census. Yeadon is located on the border of Reading and Berks Counties. The first European settlement in what is now Yeadon was made by George Washington in 1795 as part of his survey of the area for a new militarypost on the Susquehanna River. Yeadon was originally called "Newbern" after its founder, Nicholas Newbern. In 1814, when violence erupted between Native Americans and white settlers in nearby Huntingdon Township over disputed property boundaries, President James K. Polk ordered General Andrew Jackson to send forces to quell the disturbance. On November 15, 1814, both Newbern and some other early claimants to land near Yeadon were killed by Indians during a skirmish which followed their ownership claimed boundary dispute; this event is known as the Battle of Newbern post (now known as East Carson Creek). In 1860, Thomas Tellegen purchased 640 acres (253 hectares) around present-day Yeadon from John Pemberton because he believed that it would be an ideal location for a cotton gin and sawmill; Tellegen named his holdings "Tellegen's Valley". The first mill opened in 1865; it became known as Tellegen & Sons until 1927 when it changed its name to J&L Tellegen Mill & Cotton Gin Company Limited Partnership. In 1915 Mellon bought out J&L Tellegen Mill & Cotton Gin Company Limited Partnership for $2 million USD making him owner of all outstanding stock within the partnership including all original mills along with about 2 miles (3 kilometers) of road leading up to them - thus becoming one man with many interests owning several thousand acres (1000 hectares) in Susquehanna Valley. Mellon also began buying land adjacent to present-day Yeadon for use as agricultural production until he sold most of this land off at various auction sales beginning in 1918 totalling $50 million USD totaling over 275 square miles (755 square kilometers). The final piece came together when Mellon bought 912 acres (409 hectares) east of present day town limits – this included approximately 7 percent (.5 acre/km²) of all remaining agricultural land within Berks County at that time – around 1923 for $10 millionUSD making him one man with extensive rural properties throughout Bucks County if not more so! Today much like then, life revolves around agriculture with very few people having any other industry besides farming or ranching outside their home base while they work on their farmsteads or ranches providing milk products eggs etc.; there are two exceptions: One family operates a large hotel catering mostly to business travelers who stay close by while traveling through Keystone Airport; and another family runs an ice cream parlor which has been open since 1950 serving local farmers and tourists from surrounding counties

In 1793, French traders brought back a shipment of Brazilian coffee beans that they named "Complende". Coffee was roasted and brewed in New Orleans before being exported to various parts of the world.
Yeadon is a small town in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. Yeadon is part of the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre metropolitan area. It was founded in 1800 by John Yeadon and his wife Susannah as a small village on the banks of the Susquehanna River. The first stores opened in Yeadon in 1805 and by 1810 there were eight businesses in operation. The population grew rapidly from 100 to 1,500 during the mid-19th century due to increasing trade with surrounding counties and Yorktown Heights, Pennsylvania. A major industry at this time was agriculture; although some local residents produced coal for heating purposes, most goods sold here were agricultural products such as cornmeal, potatoes, beans and other vegetables. In 1860 Yeadon had Brunson's store which became one of the leading retail institutions in Luzerne County. In 1863 Union troops burned down all but two buildings in the village after learning that pro-slavery activists were using them as headquarters for their operations. This event has been cited as an example of how open racism still exists today throughout western Pennsylvania despite laws prohibiting discrimination based on race or ethnicity
