Williamsport coffee began as a small commercial coffee house in 1875. The first coffee beans were roasted in the home of John Pemberton and his wife, Sarah. By 1895, the business had moved to its current location on the corner of State Street and Main Street. In 1927, Williamsport Coffee became one of the first independent coffee businesses in Pennsylvania. The store continued to grow and expand until it closed its doors in 1984.
Williamsport is a town in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 15,546 at the 2010 census. Williamsport is located in Huntingdon County. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Williamsport were men from England who arrived during the early 17th century. They built a trading post on the banks of the Susquehanna River and named it "Fenwick." The post was abandoned about 1684 after Samuel Fenwick lost his money in an Indian raid, and his family moved to nearby Easton. In 1795, John Hance granted land to William McGowan for £100 (equivalent to $). McGowan built a sawmill on the river and named it "Williamsport." In 1824, Act No. 5 of that year dedicated two square miles (less than one kilometer) of land near Williamsport for public use as "The Square Mile of Williamsport." This square mile became known as Upper Township when it was organized as a township in 1827. On July 24, 1828, Lower Township formed from part of Upper Township when that township was divided along racial lines by Order No. 2145 of Chief Justice Robert Marshall following their decision in "Dred Scott v Uppal," which held that black citizens could not be citizens of any state but Illinois because they were not descended from white colonists who had founded that state. Williamsport's initial status within upper township changed several times over its existence; first it belonged to Cumberland Township then Westmoreland before finally being annexed by Upper Township in 1881 due to its growing commercial importance within the township as well as residents' preference for having more centralized governing authority closer to them. As part of changes brought about by PennsylvanianDuring prohibition era many businesses closed down including breweries and grocery stores sohofter local farmers started raising horses and pigs which led to increased production around this time also making Williamsport become an important transportation hub for goods moving between Philadelphia and points westward

Coffee became popular in Holland because it was cheaper than other methods of getting caffeine such as tea or cocoa (which had expensive ingredients). Coffee beans from Africa were often used when beans from Indonesia or Brazil were not available at the time. As more people started being born around 1800, more people wanted access to this new way of life so plantations sprang up all over Africa for extracting tea, cocoa, gold, peppermint oil and other valuable resources from these lands! The slave trade played an important role in this process as Africans were taken by force across oceans just so they could be used for coffee production! By 1819, most African countries had become independent butGhana did not allow direct European investment until 1894! Ethiopian coffee exports reached $1 billion by 1930! However, due to World War II bombings which destroyed muchoftheAfrica'scoffee industry (not only Ghana but also Kenya and Nigeria) local prices plummeted; Ethiopian bauxite mining ceased completely between 1944-1945; however Kenyan bauxite mining continued until 1973

The name of the town is likely derived from a variant form of "Willis," meaning "a strong stream." Williamsport developed into an agricultural center after General George Washington's forces burned down Fort Necessity in 1779 to clear land for military purposes. On October 15, 1800, Williamsport was made the capital of Western Pennsylvania by act of Congress. In 1854, it became the seat of government for Lancaster County when that county was divided into two parts; Lancaster and Chester counties continued to be governed separately until 1907. Williamsport has several notable landmarks including: Mount Olivet Baptist Church (established 1886), which is home to one of America's oldest black churches; Patriot Hall (now used as a museum), which served as the headquarters for the United States Post Office from 1865 to 1967; and Independence Hall (established 1814). It also has several businesses including Smith Machine Works, Empire Seed & Feed Company, Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
