The Marine Corps has a rich history that can be traced back to the Revolutionary War. The Marines were first stationed in Philadelphia, and they served in a variety of capacities until 1798, when they became part of the Continental Army. In 1799, the Marine Corps was formed as an infantry regiment, and it continued serving in various roles until 1812, when it was redesignated as a marines regiment. From 1814 to 1865, the marines regiment served as an infantry divisional unit before transitioning to artillery in 1866. After World War II ended in 1945, the marines regimental headquarters was disbanded but some members continued service as part of other units until 1972. Since its inception, the marine corps has deployments throughout different parts of the world and has played a critical role in many conflicts both during peacetime and wartime. Through its history,marine forces have bred loyalty among their cadre and have been known for their dedication to duty and their unyielding determination. In 1939 regular Marines fought alongside United States Expeditionary Forces fighting Nazi Germany while Naval Militia manned anti-submarine warfare vessels off shore; however this type conflict ended after only 2 months when Navy Militias destroyed all German submarines along with any piloted boats.

Amphibious Assault Battalion

On 8 Dec 1941 amphibious assault battalion was activated at Key West FL under commandant 1st Lt John Wainwright[1] who later assumed commandant duties at NAS Jacksonville FL where he met his future wife Shirla Heilman.

Whitehall is a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. Whitehall is part of the Reading Borough government and it is located on the Susquehanna River. The first white settlers in what is now Whitehall were James Ross and his family who came from Fayette Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania in 1795. James Ross's grandson, John Ross (1805-1868), became one of the most noted landowners in Berks County. He developed a large tract of land south of Whitehall along the Susquehanna River and founded many businesses including the famous "Ross Distillery" which still operates today as a spirits store and distillery tour operator. John Ross's son George Washington Ross (1829-1924) also had an important role in early life in Whitehall. George Washington was born into a wealthy family in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and attended Yale University where he studied law before moving to Philadelphia to become an attorney. Upon returning to Lancaster County he built up a successful legal practice that served as an influence for future generations of attorneys throughout Berks County. He married Sarah Todd Chalfant (1833-1912) and they had two children: Hugh Auchincloss Ross (1865-1949), who served as Attorney General of New York City from 1921 to 1923; and Alice Chandler Morris (1906-1983). In 1876, local residents voted to incorporate as a borough under the nameReading Township with boundaries corresponding more closely with those of present day Whitehall than did their original township home elsewhere within Berks County proper. In 1907, Reading Township merged into what is now Reading Borough when all but two blocks of its territory were annexed by Borough Park following annexation efforts by other municipalities within Berks County following similar voting procedures then being used during that time - referendum process being variously called " vote or be annexed ", " annexationsvillages", or simply " incorporation ". At this point much larger portions - some measuring over five square miles - lying outside present day Whites Hallowing boundaries were included within present day Reading Borough limits without any attempt at annexation while tracts lying east/west along both banks of the Susquahanna River withinpresentdayReadingBorough boundarieswereacquiredby neighboring boroughsfollowingthesame processes circa1920-. The area now comprising downtown Whites Hallowing has grown considerably since then with new development ongoing near US Route 322E/W known locally as Temple Place . Today's Blackhawk Valley Golf Resort & Spa located about 3 miles westsouthwestofWhiteHall on PA Route 322E lies entirely within contemporary readington borough limits with no intervening township boundary

Whitehall is a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Reading, PA-NJ-DE-MD Metropolitan Statistical Area. Whitehall was founded in 1784 as a trading post on the Susquehanna River by Nicholas Biddle and his family. The first settler arrived in 1785 and named it "Biddle's Forge." In 1814, Whitehall was incorporated as a borough. On July 1, 1836, it became a township within Berks County. On December 30 of that year, it became a village and on January 1 of that year it became an agricultural community known for its wheat and corn crops. The Unitarian church built in 1837 remains one of the few remaining colonial Unitarian buildings in Pennsylvania. In 1902–03 white settlers from New York City moved into what is now Whitehall to begin farming their new land near Reading; they called their new community "New Yorkville". By 1916 most of the New Yorkville residents had left to return to New York City or flee during World War I; however some continued to live there until they were driven out by developers who wanted to build homes closer to industry and transportation hubs like Philadelphia and Washington D.C.. On October 16, 1920 Whitehall lost its charter as an agricultural community because it failed to meet production goals set by the Township Welfare Committee; but on November 20 this charter was restored when local farmers banded together to produce more food than had been produced before). During World War II many residents took up arms against Germany; after the war many returned home but some remained in New Yorkville which continue functioning as a commercial center today despite having no resident government or school system On May 3rd 1984 Borough President John Fenton announced that all municipal offices would be closed effective June 30th because heavy budget cuts were impending due primarily to state budget reductions caused by inflationary trends across several southeastern states including Pennsylvania which were also experiencing economic decline at that time The last public meeting for Whitehall occurred on September 6th 1984 with members present voting unanimously not To Close Office
