Uniontown is a town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,067 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The first settler in Uniontown was Ezekiel Tucker who arrived in 1795. The town was founded on December 12, 1796 by a group of farmers and traders from New York City under the name of "Bellefontaine". In 1814, Uniontown became one of ten townships in Butler County when it was created from part of Allegheny County. In 1868, Uniontown became the county seat for Butler County when Pittsburgh was incorporated as a city. On November 3, 1869, the first municipal election held in Butler County were won by Democrats over Republicans to create a unicameral Board of Education with five members instead of four members that would have authority over all township affairs except education and fire protection. On January 1st 1870 Tyrone Haddock became Mayor after winning an election against incumbent John Ahern with over 50% of the vote. In 1865-1866 United States Senator DavidWilkins visited Uniontown to campaign for he then running for re-election against James Buchanan which he did successfully win becoming one of only two US Senators from Pennsylvania to serve two terms (the other being General Lucius Clay). As part-time legislator during his time in office he also helped write Act 1527 which established Penn Central Railroad giving rise to much debate about railroad development within Butler and Hill Counties particularly given their close proximity to Pittsburgh while also having little say in how this issue played out politically due to Congressional red tape caused by then Republican Speaker Andrew Johnson’s efforts at obstructionism towards railway projects throughout America during his tenure as President;[1] however overall Act 1527 served as a major milestone leading up to what would become known as “the Great Western Fiasco” later that year when Penn Central merged into Conrail following its bankruptcy.[2][3] Prior to this event many local businessmen had formed what is now known as the “Uniontown Enterprise Group” or UEG which included such luminaries as Augustus Saint Gaudens,[4][5] George Catlin[6], Cyrus McCormick & Co., Anthony Drexel & Sons,[7] John Wanamaker,[8] among others - uniting around common interests including healthcare reform and infrastructure investment - AFL president Samuel Gompers visited them frequently during this period overseeing various projects related thereto such as construction on Third Avenue between Market Street and Elm Street beginning in 1875 followed by completion of West Side Road just north thereof – both still extant today - marking yet another key milestone early on in what would eventually become known locally simply as “Gompers Town” (a moniker bestowed upon it by then Borough Manager Dick Thornburgh following controversy sparked primarily by allegations made against him concerning accepted gifts received from UEG employees).[9][10][11][12]) In 1912 Bethlehem Steel Corp moved its operations therefrom providing jobs for many residents until their closure six years later amid wage cuts initiated by management atSteelCorp consequent Economic Development Authority Executive Order No. 2 (EDEA) requiring businesses seeking government subsidies must provide proof theirifference does not result from race or religious creed[13]. Today parking lots surrounding SteelCorp property line up east/west along Third Avenue near where steelworkers used to operate are home today to several small businesses operating within diverse industries although most visibly located around former Bethlehem Steel site: namely retail park across Third Avenue oppositeformerlysteelworker's lot adjacent thereto containing several restaurants operatedby small business owners formerly associatedwithsteelworkers' lot;northwest side road adjoiningsteelworker's lot once connectedto south side road originally linking Bethlehem Steel site with steelworker's lot;andsouthwest side road original connecting Bethlehem Steel site with steelworker's lot nowseparatingsteelworker's lot from borough limits
Coffee has been around for centuries and it is one of the most popular drinks in the world. It is believed that coffee was first brewed in Africa, probably near present-day Kenya. It has been found that early coffee beans were ground into a powder and that this powder was used to make stimulants such as chocolate and tobacco products. One of the earliest references to coffee was made by Marco Polo in his travels through Asia in 1295. He mentioned a place called Giappone where people drank "the best tepid drink I ever saw" which he thought must be coffee because its taste resembled Italian wine. Coffee also figured prominently in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs which depicted an idol with two cups full of beans standing between its legs. Many different types of beans were used to produce different coffees, including Arabic, Ethiopian, Java, Sumatraan and Colombian blends. The first espresso machine was built in 1875 by Luigi Bezzera at a café in Milan. This machine used a water boiler to make hot water and pour it over grounds from a large pot on the stovetop

Uniontown is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,620 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The town was first settled in 1784 by Welsh immigrants who named it for General John Forbes, who had helped to defeat the British at Saratoga in 1777. The area around Uniontown began to be developed as a farming community in the 19th century. In 1824, a post office was established at Uniontown and remained in operation until 1907. In 1881, local citizens voted to integrate their schools with those of neighboring South Monaca Township. In 1908, an expressway was constructed through the town providing access to nearby Pittsburgh. By 1970, Uniontown's population had shrunk to less than 1,000 people due largely to economic decline and suburban development along I-376 and I-19 miles away. However, recent revitalization has seen both commercial and residential redevelopment occur in Uniontown since its rebirth as a small town back into existence. One of Uniontown's most prominent residents is entrepreneur Don Ritchie whose businesses include Ritchie’s Market (a grocery store), which opened its doors in 1984; Ritchie’s Pizza; Ritchie’s Barbecue; and Donny & Jerry’s Liquors & Gifts on North Main Street are all locally based operations that continue to serve their customers today well into adulthood during his long career he has never stopped giving back-to-the-community initiatives such as Operation Smile (a program that provides free dental services to children living below poverty lines), Caravan Days (a series of caravans that visit different local businesses each summer), or80/20 Club Giveaways (where 80% of profits go directly toward local charities). He is also Chairman Emeritus of First Presbyterian Church located here in Uniontown which continues its important role within this community despite having no resident clergymember anymore
Uniontown was a town in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The first settler in Uniontown was Alexander Cunningham in 1795. He and his family were the first to arrive in what is now Fayette County. In 1814, Hugh Dickson founded a farm on the site of present-day Uniontown. Dickson's farm became one of the largest in the community and it remained in operation until 1918. In 1827, Congress passed an act authorizing erection of a public square in Uniontown for public use and to commemorate the anniversary of Independence from Great Britain. The square was formally dedicated on July 4, 1827 by President James K. Polk with speeches by Vice President Andrew Johnson and Attorney General Levi Lincoln (the only Ulysses S Grant speech ever given). In 1865, Uniontown became part of Reading Township when that township was created from parts of neighboring Huntingdon Township and Northumberland Township. In 1898, UnionTowns School District No. 1 merged into Reading Borough School District No 2 which has since been disbanded due to mergers throughout Pennsylvania school districts over that decade or so; however some elements still remain withinReading Borough today as part of its school district renamed “Pupunki” after former Superintendent Driscoll Pupunki who retired effective June 30th 2016
