The United States Air Force deployed a gift of air force technology to Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 1947. The gift was the first time such a gift had been given to an American city. The Air Force's Deployment Technical Laboratory had developed and tested new aircraft and weapons in during World War II. In honor of the deployment, the laboratory gave away two large chests of equipment that included radios, film cameras, radar detectors and many other items. Today, the Deployment Technical Laboratory still exists in Pottstown as part of Wright-Patterson AFB. It is home to research into global Positioning Systems (GPS) and other advanced technology used by the USAF. The laboratory provides access to its equipment for public tours on select days throughout the year.

Pottstown, Pennsylvania is a city in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 16,651 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Delaware County. It was founded in 1798 by Anthony Pott as a small settlement on the Susquehanna River and became an important manufacturing center during the late 19th century and early 20th century. In recent decades, Pottstown has become a bedroom community for larger cities such as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Pottstown began as a small settlement on the Susquehanna River near present-day Allentown. Anthony Pott settled there in 1798 after purchasing land from Chief Weequahicough and his people for $5 per acre (1¢ per square foot). As settlers arrived in this area, they built small log homes withchickens running between them to provide heat and food for their children during winter months. By 1800, most of what is now Pottstown had been developed. A gristmill was built that year along with three sawmills and nine tannery plants soon followed; these were among the first mills in western Pennsylvania. The town rapidly gained importance due to its strategic location on the Susquehanna River –adjacent to both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh–as well as its trade ties with those cities. In 1814, when it became part of Pennsylvania, Pottstown annexed much of Westmoreland County including present-day Monessen Township; this annexation helped increase Pottstown's population by 10%. However, despite these improvements, local economic stagnation continued until around 1860 whenrailroads came through the area providing new opportunities for industry growth (though smaller towns did not benefit from this).[2] At that time many local families started out working for railroad companies but quickly transitioned into full-time entrepreneurship once Railroad jobs opened up outside their home towns/counties[3]. This transformation led to increased productivity within businesses while also creating new social hierarchies within society which continues today[4]: laborers are typically employed within their own hometowns while entrepreneurs often move away for new opportunities or start anew in different places; women are generallyunemployedoutsideofthe traditional female breadwinners role [5]. Today’s economy is characterized by heavy reliance on transportation: energy production remains one of POTTOWTOWN’S MAIN INDUSTRIES although other sectors have emerged recently such as health care technology,[6] biotechnology,[7],[8], fashion retail[9],and professional services.[10] Despite being alternate home to some of America’s largest corporations (in terms employment stats),POTTSTOWN still offers residents access to quality public education which includes four high schools: John F Kennedy High School(now John C Reilly High School),The gymnasium & school building housed by Bethlehem Steel Company(now Allegheny Technologies),Stroudsburg Area Senior High School(formerly Stroudsburg Area Junior High School), & Easton Area Senior High School(formerly Easton Area Intermediate). These schools offer students choice between rigorous academic programs based upon student achievement goals set forth by PA state government or vocational/technical programs following common patterning found throughout PA region\. In addition city government offers more than 50 acres of parkland including five baseball diamonds (.name .date)& several hundred yards track\trackball fields\. Most notable athletic events not limited just to football or basketball but also include pipe band contests , civic festivals , arts & crafts shows etc….. Only two blocks north of downtown you will find another gem called Shop Rite Center which anchors Main Street right off I-76 Exit 331A right next to Walmart
The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History is a program started in the early 1990s to remember and commemorate the service members and their families who have donated items or money to the military. The history of this program can be traced back to World War II when servicemen and women brought home war spoils such as radios, bicycles, pistols and other firearms. In recent years, the Air Force has become increasingly involved in providing gifts for inauguration ceremonies, special events, National Day celebrations and more. One of the earliest deployments was to celebrate President George H.W. Bush’s first term in office in 1992. A gift from a USAF officer gave $1,000 to charity. Since then, air force personnel have sent gifts on numerous occasions including: Christmas (1993), Presidents’ Day (2001 & 2008), New Year’s Eve (2004), Easter eggs (2007), Army-Navy GameDay Celebration (2009) and more. The USAF Deployed Gift History Program is open to everyone regardless of rank or branch of service. Gifts can be sent through mail or online giving options are available both on-line and within the military itself through Military Appreciation Centers located throughout America. The goal is always to provide support for military members who dedicate their livesto serving our country by delivering important supplies and services directly to those who need them most—the troops on-base or deployed overseas!

Pottstown is a borough in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, located in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. As of 2010, it had a population of 21,609 and is the second most populous borough in Philadelphia after Center City. The borough was formed from parts of Easton and Allentown on March 12, 1920. It was named for Pottsville, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Pottstown's rich history can be found in its many buildings and sites dating back to the 17th century when English colonists arrived in what is now Pottstown. In 1681, Nicholas Penna (or Penna de Paoli), one of the first Europeans to land in what is now Philadelphia Township, erected a log cabin on an estate he called "Rochester". After years of occupancy by Penna's family and others until 1807 when they sold it to Andrew Martin who resold it to George Thomson in 1814, Rochester became part of what is now Pottstown. In 1768-69 Captain John Smith's Expedition passed through this area on their way from Fort Duquesne to canoe up the Delaware River for trade with the French at Newark Bridge near modern day Jenkintown; they stopped at Rochesterville (now Northumberland Township). This site would later become known as Pottstown because many English settlers originated here including Samuel Potter who settled near present day Drexel University along with his brother Isaac Potter who founded Muhlenberg College (now Temple University) nearby. In 1792 James Buchanan used Rochesterville as his camp while surveying across what is now Delaware County before reaching Lancaster township where he built a cabin which served as his headquarters during his campaign against George Washington in 1800. After Adams won that election and took office as President over Washington's Vice President Joseph Galloway,) Buchanan moved into Rochesterville where he stayed until October 24th 1800 when he left for Yorktownpuroughwherehewasto make war against France only to return two weeks later sick with fever and died at Monmouth Court House without ever having seen action or fought combat! The town would come under British rule following her defeat during World War I but reverted back to American control following World War II when both countries merged into one Union under Franklin D Roosevelt . During that time much progress was made such as construction of Interstate 95 which runs through central Pottstown followed by establishment of numerous businesses throughout Morris County such as Steelworkers Local 399 & Bethlehem Steel Corporation HQ just outside town limits today - creating perhaps one of those examples that still exists down memory lane almost 400 years later! In recent years there has been some growth although much remains low key with current population consisting primarilyof retirees living alone within walking distance or carpooling etc... all while maintaining tight community bonds welding together residents from various walks OF life!
