The Phoenixville Army National Guard was organized on December 15, 1892. The first unit to deploy to serve in the First World War was Company C of the 122nd Infantry Regiment which arrived in France on April 10, 1915. After being deployed to Salonika, Macedonia and Gallipoli during the war, Company C was mustered out of service at Camp Butler on October 31, 1918. In 1919, the 121st Infantry Regiment was mobilized and sent to fight in Poland. After fighting throughout that country until 1923, Company H of that regiment deployed overseas for the first time as part of American Expeditionary Force (AEF) in Europe. They served primarily in Belgium and Netherlands before returning home on September 1, 1925. After World War II ended there were several troop deployments to Korea where Company M of the 121st Infantry Regiment fought from 1951-1953. In 1957-1959 a detachment from Company L traveled to Lebanon for an Operation Cast Lead military operation against Syria’s Hezbollah movement. From 1978-1981 two detachments were stationed at Fort Bliss Texas while other units rotated through various locations around America including Germany (1985), Spain (1989), Puerto Rico (1991), Kuwait (1996), Bosnia & Herzegovina 1997-1998 and Afghanistan 2002-2003. On July 14th 2006Phoenixville Armory hosted its first ever Guns N' Ammo show with over 100 exhibitors from all over Northeast Pennsylvania! This event marked a new era forArmy National Guard firearms sales as it became one of most popular events atarms shows across Pennsylvania!

Phoenixville is a small town in southwestern Pennsylvania, United States. It is the county seat of Butler County and has a population of 9,811 as of 2010. The name "Phoenixville" comes from the Cherokee word pichinawa, meaning "place where corn grows." The first settler in Phoenixville was James Williamson in 1792. In 1812, John Armstrong founded what became known as Armstrong's Mills; he built mills on the creek that flows through downtown Phoenixville today. In 1827, George Stephenson built the first steamboat navigation on the Monongahela River in this community. In 1916, Phoenixville was made a city by an act of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The first settlers in what is now Phoenixville were Quakers who arrived from Northampton County, England in 1682. They built their first home on the east side of what is now Market Street in 1735 and named it Meeting House Hill after their meeting house located nearby on Meetinghouse Road. The earliest mention of Phoenixville can be found in a deed dated October 3, 1747, from Canandaigua Township to John Ford and his family for 640 acres (2 km²).
The town site was surveyed by George Washington and named for him – Washington's Valley or Valley Forge. On July 4, 1800, President James K. Polk signed an executive order directing US Marshals to assist with law enforcement during the Fourth of July celebration celebrations in Philadelphia that year. The order also said "the temporary seat of government here shall be established at Valley Forge."
In 1802-3 General George Meade constructed Fort Meade near present-day Valley Forge National Historical Park as part of his defense against British forces besieging Philadelphia during the War of 1812. After years of construction and testing by military officers and civilians alike, Meade's installation finally opened to the public on November 12th, 1814; just four days before Fort York surrendered to Lieutenant Colonel William Howe during Battle of Saratoga Creek.
