Oil City is a small town in the state of Pennsylvania, located on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The town was founded in 1879 by men from nearby Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Oil City became an incorporated city in 1907. In 1933, oil production ceased in the area and the city lost its nickname of "The Oil Capital of the World". However, it regained its nickname after being named one of twenty finalists for the 2007 America's Cities Award. In 2008, Oil City was selected as one of fifty cities to be part of a national revitalization program funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies called "Cities That Work." The goal is to help cities become more economically sustainable and environmentally conscious by creating economic opportunities and protecting public spaces. Guns continued to be bought and sold primarily during peacetime when few military engagements occurred within driving distance of our town center (i.e., Pittsburgh). Most handguns available at any given time would have been manufactured between 1892 and 1903FFFF which coincides with most American wars fought throughout this time frame! Interestingly enough though, handguns made their way onto our streets much later than we might think due to prohibition laws put into place following America's Civil War era (1861 - 1865). Prior to 1861 all handguns must have been registered with local authorities under state law; however registration requirements changed upon passage of the new Federal Constitution which banned slavery & involuntary servitude! This led many citizens in our community (especially those living on rural estates) to purchase newly acquired firearms instead of waiting until registrations expired &/or authorities refused to process applicationsdue to fear their firearms may soon become confiscated! Consequently, many antique Firearms dealers operating out-of-state during prohibition years began receiving shipmentshetaizing aboutINCREDIBLE GUNS FOR SALE THAT WERE UNREGISTERED AND LOST THEIR WARRANTY!! NeedlessTo say these dealer's shelves became cluttered with weapons long past their useful life expectancy... fortunately such activity stopped shortly afterwards when federal agents came knocking on doorsto enforce compliance with new regulations!!! As mentioned previously prior to 1863 most handgun sales took place out-of-town at local stores mentioned earlier e.g., Western Gun store where handguns purchased prior to 1862 still remain popular today among collectors! It should be noted though that even after passage Of The National Act To Regulate Commerce In Arms On July 1st 1870 all handgun sales must now take place through licensed firearm dealers!!! Thank goodness too because otherwise some unsavoury characters would have been able to obtainholds onto valuable firearms without having them thoroughly inspected!! It wasn't until 1915 when Regulation No 2 Of The Board Of Trade Came Into Force which strictly regulated ammunition manufacturing within our borders!!!!! Consequentlyforth ALL ammunition purchases Including shotgun rounds MUST now go through licensed Ammunition Dealer!!!!!!!!! And just like thatgun gifting history turned COMPLETELY different!!!

Oil City, Pennsylvania is a small city located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The population was 10,815 at the 2010 census, making it the smallest municipality in the state by population. Oil City was established on November 3, 1879 by oilmen George Hutton and James Braidwood as a station on the newly constructed Keystone Bridge across Cresson Creek near present-day Shamokin Township. The first settlers were men from West Virginia who had come to this area looking for Susquehanna coal seams that had been discovered in what is now Northumberland County. The town grew rapidly and soon there were schools, churches, businesses and homes - all built with local coal and oil revenues as its main source of revenue.
