In 1902, Alfred Pease opened his own business called “Pease Bros.,” which became one of the most important early coffeemakers in Philadelphia. Pease Brothers continued to produce high quality coffee until 1982 when their business was sold to Jardine & Evans Coffee Co.. At that point, Jardine & Evans CoffeeCo.(J&E) made significant changes to their product line including eliminating whole bean grinding and instead using Maxwell House soluble solids for their espresso drinks/coffee puffs etc.. New Kensington is a city in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. The population was 27,811 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area and has a population of over 50 million people. New Kensington is bordered by Germantown to the north, Strawberry Mansion to the east, Southwark to the south, and west by Reading. The first European settlement in what is now New Kensington was made on April 12th 1751 when Captain James Cook landed on Long Island in search for new land to colonization. Heading northwest from England he spotted an opening in the Allegheny Mountains that would house his future plantation colony and named it "New Kensington". The town's name may be traced back to Captain John Richardson (1748-1820), one of two trustees who purchased 240 acres (128 hectares) of land at Newtown Creek near present-day Girard College which became home to Richardson's School until 1802 when it moved to its current location across Huntingdon Street from City Hall. Captain George Washington(1732-1800) stopped at Newtown Creek during his stay in nearby Germantown on December 14th 1776 while en route from Valley Forge Campaign against British forces under General Howe. In fact, President George Washington spent Christmas night there with members of his family before continuing their journey northeastward towards Mount Vernon House where they assembled for dinner that evening. In 1848 New Kensington erected its first public building - a schoolhouse - and began hosting elections for township officials which were then conducted via individual ballot rather than drawing lots like those held at present day polling places. That same year saw another major milestone as streets were laid out within our limits including Market Street which runs through downtown today and Spring Garden Road running parallel along Southwark Avenue today prior to becoming Main Street again following incorporation into city boundaries in 1961. When Pennsylvania adopted its state constitution in 1868, portions of Berks County became part of Philadelphia thanks largely due to efforts by Mayor James Farley who spearheaded annexation campaigns throughout central PA including areas such as Whitehall Township and Northumberland Township – all located within what is now New Kensington proper – resulting in an increase in populated areas within our city limits considerably outpacing any other municipality withinPhiladelphiaCounty at that time or since! So nicknamed “The City Within The City” because so much progress had been made throughout this period despite continuous fighting between forces loyal/opposed To American Independence & British Empire outside our walls; yet we never lost sight or hope that one day everything would work out just fine & everyone living here could finally enjoy peace & harmony without fear or worry about either side coming into our community & making things difficult… thus we continue striving everyday journeying forward knowing full well that good days are ahead!

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all of it land. As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 975 people residing in the town proper and 539 households out of which 45% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60% were married couples living together, 10% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25% were non-families. 21%of all households were made up of individuals and 7% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older. The average household size was 2½ and the average family size was 3½
