The donation allowed for restoration of both the clamshells and associated exhibits including a model boat dock built using salvaged materials from Clearfield Dock Company’s building. The museum now owns four large clam shells which are on display inside the visitors’ center as well as several smaller clam shells that can be viewed outside during regular hours or whenver there is space available inside or outside the visitor center .

The museum has grown to include an on-site shop, library, exhibit hall and visitor center that encompasses more than 6,000 items from 38 counties in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Murrysville is a small town located in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 309 at the 2010 census. It is part of the York City borough of York County. Murrysville is bordered by Butler Township to the north, Graysburg Township to the east, and Lawrence Township to the south. The community was first settled in 1784 by John Murry, who named it for his father-in-law and namesake, Nicholas Murry. John's brother James also settled in what is now Murrysville in 1786. At that time, there were only two houses in the community and no schools; today, there are five active businesses within its boundaries including a grocery store/cafeteria combo called "The Grapes", a post office/mail carrier service called Penn Mail (now USPS), a printing shop known as "Griggs Bros." which still operates out of one building on Main Street (later renamed State Street after its owners), and a gas station on Ridge Road which has been operating since the early 2000s. In 1853, when Pennsylvania became a free state following its independence from Great Britain, residents voted to change their name to "York". In order to reflect this new status quo, local officials decided that Murrysville should be called YorkCity proper instead of just "MurrysVILLE". In 1861, when York City merged with Philadelphia into one city Limits form under Mayor George Biddle's administration as part of an effort to improve public transportation throughout Philadelphia area - much like how Baltimore had done earlier - Murrysville became Borough Square and remains so ever since. Accordingly, despite having no municipal services whatsoever until well over 100 years later (the town annexed Butler Township in 1916), aspects such as street names and infrastructure have all remained consistent across multiple iterations within individual administrations – something not typically seen among larger municipalities where similar changes would likely result in wholesale renaming or even demolition(e.g., Center City Philly). Murrysville was first settled in 1768 by Nicholas Murrys, a Quaker. The town was named for Murrys's Manor, a farmstead located about two miles northeast of the present-day town. In 1814, the population of Murrysville numbered 175. By 1840, the population had grown to 460. The town lost its status as a borough in 1892 and became an unincorporated community. The population reached 1,000 in 1960. The town was originally part of Lackawanna County. On July 1, 1800, it became part of Butler County when that county was created from parts of Huntingdon and Scranton counties. At first, the people here were farmers who raised corn and other crops; later they built sawmills and other manufacturing plants. The mills produced products such as lumber and toys for both local children and export markets around the world. Many residents also served on various municipal bodies including as trustees or directors of schools and libraries. In 1920, after years of effort by activists led by then-Mayor James Mapes, Murrysville became one of the first communities in Butler County to become completely autonomous with its own elected government under a charter granted by Pennsylvania State University (PSU). This unique form of governance has continued to this day as well as being used throughout much of North Central Pennsylvania’s larger townships including Clarion Township which is home to more than 3,100 residents – all residents electing officials directly through ballots without any village/borough-level representation In recent years there have been several efforts spearheaded by local businesses to attract new business investment into theirtown alongside increased awareness/promotion from education/government entities highlighting some key attractions & amenities available withinmurraysville boundaries
