The city of Beirut was founded in 1870 and coffee production began there in 1898. In 1926, Lebanese farmers started growing beans on their own property outside of Beirut. Coffee production increased slowly until 1980 when it exploded after Lebanese President Michel Suleiman ordered subsidies for his business partners’ farms. Lebanon, Pennsylvania is a borough in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, located in the Beaver County area of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, Lebanon had a population of 5,868 and 1,109 households. The borough was formed on November 3, 1905 from parts of Carnegie Mellon and Homewood townships. It is named for Beirut in Syria. Lebanon is situated in northeastern Pennsylvania on a bend in the Allegheny River that forms its eastern border with Westmoreland County to the south and east. According to the United States Census Bureau, it has a total area of , all land. The highest mountain peak within Lebanon's borders is Mount Washington at 4,815 feet (1,461 m). Other topography includes rolling hills and valleys as well as numerous streams that flow through its rural districts into Beaver Creek flowing into Allegheny River to the south and west. The Borough's boundaries encompass most of what are now five zip codes: 15133 (the city limits), 15145 (Beaver Valley), 15152 (Oak Hill Township), 15163 (Northumberland Township), and 15174 (South Bethlehem Township). These areas were also served by two other post offices which were closed when Lebanon was annexed by neighboring South Bethlehem Township: Post Office #2 at 18th Street and State Road 726 between Bellefonte Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue; Post Office #3 at 20th Street and State Road 727 between Park Avenue and Cumberland Avenue; both buildings were demolished in favor of an office park called Upper Arlington Boulevard which covers much of downtown Beirut today but once housed several banks before they went out of business during economic decline after 1990s globalization changes brought about by Dayton-based commercial real estate industry consolidation have led to downtown Beirut's high residential density levels compared with those found throughout much rural Greater Pittsburgh suburbs - typical suburban bedroom communities have populations under 100 residents while some neighborhoods like McKeesport have over 500 residents per square mile while inner-city neighborhoods up around 10 or 11 hundred residents per square mile although some multi-million dollar housing developments exist outside even these boundaries near downtown areas where many thousand or more resident families live including hundreds or thousands more children living within close proximity to their parents working within easy reach for school opportunities etc., resulting in what can be considered " Inner City" development patterns although still enjoying good quality control services offered by police departments etc., providing distance from crime rates far superior than those found even within relatively safe cities such as Cleveland OH for example despite large concentrations of poverty/crime pockets existing within inner city areas

In the early 1800s, Dutch traders began to trade coffee with Brazil; this new market allowed for a longer roasting process that resulted in better flavor. The Dutch also became interested in coffee because it helped them maintain control over their colonies in Southeast Asia. By 1820, Dutch traders had introduced espresso machines to Java and began to roast coffee there. In 1824, Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano discovered Java while exploring the eastern coast of South America. He named the island Java after his Italian friend Matteo Ricci who had accompanied him on his trip. By 1830, espresso machines were being used across much of Europe; however, it wasn't until 1795 that Roquefort Cheese was accidentally introduced to Amsterdam by a French merchant named Desessarts. This cheese was made from cow’s milk and was very sour; however, it soon caught on among people throughout Amsterdam because it tasted so fresh! In 1847, an American trader named David Starr Jordan started trading with Dutch East Indies Company (NIC) based in Batavia (now Jakarta). Jordans introduced Turkish-roasted coffee which became popular due to its smooth flavor and rich coloration. From then until 1971 when Indonesian Coffee Corporation (IBC) took control of the roasting industry, European-style roasted coffees were popularly available throughout Indonesia for purchase by consumers or export to other countries such as Australia or New Zealand

Lebanon, Pennsylvania is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania. The population was 1,816 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area and had a population of 711,671 as of July 2017. The first Europeans to visit Lebanon were French colonists who landed there in 1699. In 1801, the United States acquired title to what is now Butler and Lebanon counties from France. The US government built a fort at present-day Lebanon in 1802 to protect American settlers from Native Americans. The town developed rapidly after the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825 made it accessible for transportation and trade with other parts of Pennsylvania and New York City. A mill complex was erected around 1830 in what is now downtown Lebanon by John Tipton. Manufacturing began here especially during the late 19th century when advances in technology led to new products such as automobiles and refrigerators being produced here. Lebanon was incorporated as a borough on April 24, 1881, following an act approved by the Pennsylvania General Assembly on March 20th that would give local governments greater control over their finances and operations than they had under state law at that time. The borough's charter provided for a school board "for educating children within this Borough" and for "the management of all public works." In 1895, another referendum resulted in annexation by neighboring Park Township which also included portions of today's Clairton Borough . On May 3rd 1898, both towns changed their names to Lebanon Township (later Butler Township) after approval from PA House Resolution No 279 . In 1950 Bethlehem Steel Corporation opened its steel plant here which along with other mills continued until 1984 when production shifted to Mexico City

The town located on the Susquehanna River near the present day city of Pittsburgh was named after Mount Lebanon in southern Syria. It grew rapidly due to its natural resources and its location on a major trade route. In 1829, Lebanon became part of the United States and was designated as the 23rd state in the Union. The town's growth continued with the construction of railroads and other development opportunities. By 1900, Lebanon had a population of over 10,000 residents and it boasted one of the largest trading districts in Western Pennsylvania.
