The Coast Guard has been in Lebanon, Pennsylvania since 1903. It began as a volunteer group of men who patrolled the coastline to protect shipping and passengers. In 1915, the Coast Guard was reorganized into an agency under the Department of Defense. The first Coast Guard station in Lebanon was built on Geddes Island in 1922. The service grew rapidly and by 1938, there were 9 stations across Lebanon. During World War II, the Coast Guard manned 2 lookout posts along the coastlines of Lebanon and Syria to provide warning of potential enemy submarines or landings. In 1944, when the war ended, the Coast Guard continued its rapid growth and by 1948 it had 10 stations across Lebanon. In 1951, Congress created a National Security Council to manage United States foreign policy and authorized the Coast Guard to operate out of Beirut Airport as a national security detachment with jurisdiction over all airfields within Lebanese airspace. After some initial struggles (such as having no hangar space for their helicopters),the CGC quickly became one of Hezbollah's most effective protectorates during this time period; hundreds of arrests have been made at Beirut Airport alone for regulatory violations relating to military activity on Lebanese soil! Following Hezbollah's victory in 2006 during Lebanons' first general election after years of community organizing efforts spearheaded by then-CGC Commissioner James Fenton (now Deputy Director General for Homeland Security Investigations) – new leadership decided that coastal patrols would cease completely due to terrorism concerns but maintain close monitoring among all sectors including maritime security; with this change in strategy came increased responsibilities for both Civilians & Military members alike which continue up until present day!

In 1951Captain Arthur Dyer became the first Commandant of the Coast Guard Academy at Newport News, Virginia which is now known as The Naval Academy at Newport News University. From 1959 to 1966Captain James Aiken was stationed in Beirut before being transferred to duty at Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he remained until his retirement in 1969. Since then Captains Donald Haddock (1969-1978), Clifford Withers (1978-1985), Robert Matson (1985-1990), Walter Pohl (1990-1996) and Thomas Kappes have been the commandants of the station at Lebanon while also serving as commanding officers of other USCG stations around the country including Miami Beach, Florida; Jacksonville, Florida; New London, Connecticut; Kings Bay, Georgia; Point Lookout, Maryland; Mayport,Florida; and Hampton Roads Naval Shipyard Terminal At Norfolk Virginia There has been a Commanderantaver since 2006 Admiral Michael JONES who currently serves as Commander US Fleet Forces Europe - Mediterranean Sea

The name "Lebanon" is derived from Aramaic and means "vale of Lebanon." The town was founded in 1799 by refugees from Jerusalem who were fleeing religious persecution. The first store in Lebanon opened its doors in 1802. In 1824, Lebanon became a borough and was incorporated as a city in 1907. Lebanon is known for its unique architecture, including churches and mosques that are built using traditional Lebanese engineering techniques. It has also been home to some of the world's most famous automobile designers, including Ferdinand Porsche and Leo Mulsanne. Today, Lebanon is an important industrial center with two major employers: Heinz Ketchup Company and Alcoa Corporation. Since its inception, Coast Guard personnel have given away over 1 million donated cookies along with more than $150,000 in donations to various charities since 1978. In 2013, Coast Guard personnel from all regions participated in a Cookie Drive Across America coordinated by United Way of Central Florida. Collecting nearly 2 lbs of donated cookies throughout the duration of the drive - more than any other National holiday activity!

Lebanon, Pennsylvania is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania. The population was 1,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Lebanon was first settled in 1784 by Welsh immigrants who named their community "Llangollen". The name "Lebanon" is derived from a word meaning "a graveyard", and it was here that many of the early settlers buried their dead. In 1815, when the United States purchased Butler County from Great Britain, Lafayette Township (now Lebanon) became part of Pittston Township. In 1866, Pittston Township split into two parts: One portion became Lebanon and one portion became Gannon Township. The town began to prosper after railroads were built through Butler County in the 1840s and 1850s. The development of these transportation arteries brought new residents and businesses to Lebanon and other towns in Butler County. By 1860, there were over 100 people living in Lebanon- most of whom were farmers or shopkeepers. However, during the Civil War years (1865-1871), much activity took place within Lebanese borders as soldiers served on both sides of the conflict. Many homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged during this time period; however, no one wasiously taken advantage of because all residents had risked everything for their countrymen at times such as this. After Reconstruction ended following the war, many veterans returned home to rebuild their lives while others continued working on rebuilt mills and factories throughout rural America until World War II interrupted this process completely. In 1955, when Butler County merged with Allegheny County to form what is now Pittsburgh proper, Lebanese citizens voted to rejoinPittsburgh without having any connection thereto whatsoever outside of political boundaries! This proud achievement has set Lebanese culture apart from other similar communities located within our limits - something that we take seriously each and every day!
