The station is located on I-80 just north of Indianapolis and it provides air support for both law enforcement operations and combat missions. The USS Indianapolis was sunk by Japanese torpedoes off Hiroshima on 7 August 1945; when word reached US forces at IMCAS that a Japanese submarine had attacked their ship, they opened fire on board without warning civilians or marines aboard. More than 1,500 Marines died in action during World War II. Today's Marines are still fighting for our country and its values - whether fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Today, Gifts for Warriors continues as an important part of Marine Unit gifting culture and provides servicemen and women with unique opportunities to show their support for our country abroad while also helping connect them with local communities here at home.

Indiana, Pennsylvania were two of the thirteen original states of the United States of America. They became a part of the Union on January 15th, 1781. The state of Indiana was named for General James K. Hamilton, who was killed in a battle against Native Americans in 1812. The state of Pennsylvania was named for King George III and it is one of only two U.S. states that are not contiguous with Maryland or Delaware to form a single country-state called America (the other being Rhode Island). The area that is now Indiana and Pennsylvania was originally part of the Shawnee Indian Nation until they were forced out by British forces in 1763 during the Seven Years' War. In 1802, when President George Washington signed the Treaty Of Paris which ended the war, all Native American lands east of Lake Erie were ceded to Great Britain as part of that treaty settlement. This included most of what is now Indiana and much of what is now Pennsylvania as well. It wasn't until 1835 when Congress passed an act creating West Virginia from parts of Kentucky and Ohio that these areas finally become apportioned to individual states according to population size rather than based on tribal land ownership status. In addition to its location at the junction points between eastern North America and Western Europe, Illinois also played an important role in Indiana's early history due to its strategic location as both a key transportation artery linking Chicago with Detroit and Indianapolis with Louisville and Cincinnati; as well as its importance in coalmining throughout much of Early America due to its ample supply both domestic and imported from Europe - especially after1800 when anthracite coal began becoming available domestically through railroads linkages across Missouri/Kentucky/Pennsylvania etc., thus making Illinois one half way around THE WORLD in terms OF Coal production!
