The trip ended poorly for Constitution as she encountered intense weather conditions near Rhode Island and had to return home without stopping at Boston again. The next ship that served in the navy was the USS Enterprise which arrived at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on September 13, 1944. Her mission was to investigate submarines operating off the coast of Maine. Enterprise played an important role during World War II and her remains are still used by naval forces today as part of military ceremonies or other commemorations related to her role in history. USS Bainbridge arrived at Queenstown Naval Base on February 2, 1948 after serving as an escort carrier during Operation Crossroads atomic tests in Nevada In 1953 she became flagship of Commander Ulysses S Grant’s fleet Homeward Bound campaign while he visited Europe following his inauguration as president that year

USS Constitution is credited with playing a significant role in helping to save thousands of lives during World War II and has been permanently memorialized in Emmaus through its namesake street, Constitution Drive.
Emmaus is a small town located in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 953 at the 2010 census. Emmaus is part of the Gettysburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Emmaus" derives from the German word "Emma." The first settler in what would become Emmaus was Jacob Emmerich, who arriving in 1781 found land that he and his wife Anna donated to the township. In 1802, John and Nancy Bickford bought property from Jacob Emmerich and laid out a town on land they had purchased from Ephraim Welsh. This new community was named for their mother Mary (née Dickinson). In 1814, General James Kapp sold 7 square miles of Townshipland to provide funds for a high school in what would become Emmaus. On April 12th of that year, George Stephenson built the first steamboat on the Susquehanna River at present-day Scranton while working as engineer for Penn Central Railroad. The steamboat pulled over to shore near present-day Emmaus to load passengers before continuing upstream. This event marked the beginning of economic development in this area and helped spur settlement by people looking for land with good resources. In 1820, John Fenton founded wagon manufacturing company known asthe Fentonsville Wagon Workshops which became one of the largest manufacturers of wagon products in America during its time period. In 1830, Reverend Samuel Morse arrived from England with his family to study Methodism at a Methodist church established near Philadelphia under Revolutions pastor Samuel Hennepin.. Reverend Morse decided to move his family back upstate so he could continue preaching there until he could find more permanent housing elsewhere., He founded what would become Elmira College soon after moving there with seven students which included future Congressman John Scott Davenport and future Governor Andrew Johnson . Elmira College became an important educational institution not just within Huntingdon County but also across Pennsylvania due its influence on thinkers such as Thomas Paine and James Kapp who both attended college here while serving in office or later becoming leaders in their fields

In 1775, the Continental Congress passed a resolution requesting that the navy send "a present of goods and merchandise" to help support the war effort. The first significant deployment of gifts from the navy came in 1779 when Commodore John Rodgers sailed his squadron into Boston Harbor with an assortment of items, including cannons, munitions and clothing for sailors. Emmaus is a borough in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania, United States. It was formed on December 12, 1815 from the merger of two other villages, Emmaus and Easton. The population was 2,390 at the 2000 census. The first settler in what is now Emmaus was Nicholas Hildebrandt who arrived in 1798. He built a log cabin on the banks of the Susquehanna River and named it Hildebrandt's Mills after his brother-in-law, Friedrich Hildebrandt. Settlement increased rapidly as early farmers started to arrive and by 1800 there were ten families living in Emmaus. By 1810 there were twenty-four families living in Emmaus with a total land area of . In 1814 John Beattie erected a small gristmill on the east side of the Susquehanna River opposite present day Emmaus Elementary School. The mill had power for one horse power and did not have an attached water wheel which made grinding difficult but allowed forews production beginning late summer before transportation became available overland from Lancaster County. In 1830 James Weir bought Beattie's mill and began producing flour for local markets using equipment he had built himself including a large screen room where wheat dough was shaped into loaves by hand then baked at home or sold to restaurants along with milk from his cow barn. In 1844 James Weir donated his entire estate to the township for use as a town square and $3,000 was set aside to fund construction of the first addition to what would become Emmaus – an indoor gymnasium/library/congregational meeting house (dedicated October 3, 1850). The village portion of Emmaus reached its peak growth around 1840 when sixty residents resided therein; however by 1870 this number had dropped below fifteen due largely to arrival of new settlers (primarily Germans) during that decade seeking favoritism within their new community despite promises that benefits would follow those newly arrived….. By 1920 only six residents remained within what is now Elmira while all but one building located within today’s boundaries had gone out of business or been replaced by newer structures…. The last resident left Emaus Borough on July 6th 1990…the date marked “ closing time” for many businesses in this once vibrant village…. Today much evidence remains from past occupants including namesake storefront windows still extant throughout most areas exterior walls…..large quantities found inside former residences such as beer cans dating back to Prohibition era….. A few remnants remaining today testify unequivocally about a vibrant cultural life which spanned generations here until it slowly faded away……..
