In 1922, Mr. Izzo donated a building on Market Street for the new Coffee House which continued to serve as a popular spot for customers until 1978 when it closed its doors after 35 years of operation. In 1979, two friends from Elizabethtown decided to open their own café called Cupcakery which quickly became known for its creative cupcakes and excellent espresso drinks. The term “small batch” was introduced to this café by one of its founders who enjoyed drinking espresso made at home with fresh beans rather than using pre-made machines that often yielded poor results. Today, Cupcakery continues to serve delicious espresso drinks and delicious cupcakes!
