The United States Air Force is one of the most powerful military forces in the world. It has a history that dates back to World War 1. The USAF was founded on July 29, 1912 as an arm of the military government of California. In 1919, it was renamed the United States Army Air Forces and began operations over Iwo Jima. On December 8, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and declared war on the United States. The USAF responded by forming two wings called Third Group and First Wing to fight against Japanese forces in the Pacific theater. The conflict lasted for three years and ended with Japan's surrender at Hiroshima on September 2, 1945. After World War II ended, various changes took place within the USAF. One of these changes was the establishment of Tactical Air Command (TAC) which became operational on October 25, 1948. TAC was tasked with providing air cover for ground troops during peace-time periods while also conducting nuclear weapons tests during wartime). In addition to its combat role in Korea and Vietnam, TAC also played a significant role in Operation Desert Storm in 1991-1993 which toppled Saddam Hussein's Iraqi regime; Operation Neptune's Spear – which destroyed an entire mountain range near Bagram AFB; Global Strike – which targeted terrorist targets around the world; Slammer – which eliminated enemy pilots from legitimate flying activity; as well as numerous other mission types throughout its history In recent decades there have been several strategic changes within NATO that have implications for USAF capabilities both regionally and globally:First Gulf War saw increased RAF presence into Iraq after being removed from Europe due to budget constraints - this provided RAFRF with additional aircraft storage capacity at Incirlik AB meaning jets could be stored without having to fly back out The Kosovo campaign led to increased US involvement including contributions of up to 150 Marine Corps infantry battalions who were inserted into Croatia under NATO command - this gave US Marines a better chance at success given Nato members are legally obligated not to use their own resources against each other There has been increasing chatter about how NATO may eventually split or dissolution with many member countries considering leaving or re-joining without notification or agreement from all others - this would likely leave USAF assets unguarded potentially resulting in major consequences North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member Estonia withdrew from alliance effective August 15th 2016 citing differences over defense posture towards Russia - this left Latvia as a potential new member should Estonia decide it wants remain within NATO but still maintain good relations with Russia

In 1955, the United States Air Force purchased land from the family of General George Marshall to build a new airbase at nearby Monroeville. The base became known as Wright-Patterson AFB and has been home to the United States Air Force ever since.
Coatesville is a small town in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia-Wilmington-Towson metropolitan area. The name "Coatesville" is derived from John Coates and his family who were early settlers in that area. One of John's sons, Ezekiel Coates, donated land to build a school in 1835 which became known as "Ezekiel's School" or simply "Coatesville". In 1856, Ezekiel's son Nathan also donated land to build a church on what is nowMain Street. The first pastor of the new church was Elder Elijah Hicks. The cornerstone for the new church was laid July 21st, 1861 by Rev. George Fenton and Dr. Julius Beadle both from Philadelphia In 1873, Rev James Sutherlin founded Stroudsburg Academy which soon became one of America’s leading private colleges for women and has continued to be so ever since. Today Stroudsburg College offers over 100 undergraduate degrees including arts & sciences; business; education; law; medical science/health care/psychology; nursing/nursing home management; Owen Business School ;Pioneer Valley Community College ; and Thurgood Marshall Law School . The town also had its own newspaper called the Enterprise until it merged with the Philadelphia Inquirer in 1959
