The Chester County Coast Guard was established on December 8, 1892. The early years of the Coast Guard were difficult because of lack of funds and a lack of trained personnel. However, with the help of donations from individuals and businesses, the Coast Guard soon began to grow. In 1916, the first cutter, "Chester", was donated by Mr. Harry J. Hargrave. In 1951, the first helicopter was donated by Mr. Ray Chapman. Today, the Chester County Coast Guard consists of over 1,100 members who are dedicated to keeping America's coasts safe. We work together to provide education and training for our officers and crewmembers; respond to emergency calls; support patriotic events; provide environmental protection; and assist in law enforcement activities when needed.

The Chester Coast Guard gift history goes back to 1892. The first Coast Guard station in Chester was built on the site of what is now Harborview Medical Center. In 1922, the Chester County Board of Commissioners approved the construction of a second Coast Guard station at the present-day intersection of Market and Sansom Streets. This new station became known as Harborview Station 2. It served as a base for both the Chesapeake Bay Patrol and the Delaware River Patrol until it closed in 1969. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter authorized the erection of a third Coast Guard station in Chester County - this time called Harborview Station 3. ThisStation served as an emergency landing spot for commercial vessels confiscated by U.S Customs and Border Protection during Operation Neptune’s Spear, which was conducted against smugglers operating from Mexico into America. The fourth Coast Guard station in Chester County was opened on October 1st, 2000 - known today as Terminal Island Station 4 (TIS4). TIS4 is used mainly for harbor security and law enforcement purposes; however, it also has storage capacity for up to 16 helicopters and 8 boats. It is one of only two terminals operated by the Department of Homeland Security that are open to civilian traffic! Today, almost all operations at Terminal Island Station 4 are conducted by local police officers or agents from neighboring jurisdictions who work out-of-town shifts or overnight shifts; however, there are still times when federal agents must be called in to handle special events or emergencies related to terrorism or other national security issues.
Chester, Pennsylvania is a small town in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,651 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Delaware County. Chester is located northwest of Pittsburgh and southeast of Philadelphia. The first European settlers in Chester were French Canadians who founded the village of Cravath on November 15, 1774. They named it after Sir John Cravath, 1st Baronet (1681-1750). The Scots-Irish immigrants who followed in their footsteps built an extensive agricultural community around what is now downtown Chester and nearby Westmoreland Roads. In 1814, when Pennsylvanian Michael Carlin became governor of Delaware County, he ordered all German and Irish farmers to leave their properties or be deported. Many people left for various reasons: high prices for land; difficulties finding work; fear of violence from Native American groups that inhabited the area; and discrimination by Anglo-Saxon landowners. Many residents of Chester took up agriculture as a career choice because they could not find other opportunities in the rapidly growing city during the early 1800s. Today, many businesses in downtown Chester are operated by descendants of those original pioneer farmers andchers. A variety of cultures have lived together in this diverse community - Italian Americans haveowned grocery stores and cafes since the late 19th century; Germans have run local breweries until recent times; Poles live hereabouts full time since World War II; Jews have practiced such religions as Orthodox Judaism and Reform Judaism since before America gained her independence from Great Britain in 1776; Syrians are among the largest minority groups present today with multiple families working independently farms near downtown Chester while also taking advantage of commercial activities within walking distance along Northside Avenue between State University Boulevard and Southside Avenue
The Coast Guard has been providing service to the United States for over 180 years. The Coast Guard is responsible for protecting our coastline, waterways, and seashores. Some of the most famous gifts from the Coast Guard have been a lifesaving machine called a lifeboat, which was given to the Coast Guard in 1892; a weather chart with measurements for less than 1 kilometer, which was given to the Coast Guards in 1924; and a set of inflatable lifeboats, which were given to the Coast Guard in 1967. In 1969, Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which provided funding for coastal security programs. This legislation also authorized donations from private companies to be used for coastal defense purposes. As a result of this legislation, individuals and businesses donated money towards coastal security programs such as law enforcement, firefighting, and public education. These donations have helped improve safety on our coasts and help make America stronger culturally and economically. Today, the Coast Guard continues its tradition of giving back by donating items such as boat anchors and other fishing gear to various charities throughout America. In addition to these donations, the Coast Guard also operates several donation centers across America which allow people to donate items such as clothes or toys that they may not be ableto bring home with them. This allows us to give back even more significantly during these tough times!

Chester, Pennsylvania is a town in northeastern Pennsylvania and one of the most populous communities in the state. It has a population of over 120,000 as of 2010. Chester was founded by English colonists in 1795. The area that now makes up Chester was first settled by Algonquians who were either displaced or killed when the Iroquois Confederacy moved their capital from Albany to what is now downtown Philadelphia in 1683. In 1795, following the British victory at Yorktown, General Thomas Palkman and his army led by Colonel John Armstrong reached Chester and captured much of the town before withdrawing on July 9th. The fate of most of Lancaster County rested with Cornwallis after his surrender at Saratoga Springs on October 14th; however, some residents fled to escape battle and food shortages during the winter at Yorktown. However, many people returned to rebuild their homes during the war years which followed - including prominent architect James Buncombe who designed many important buildings in town including the courthouse (now known as Independence Hall) and city hall (now called Third Street Station). After independence was granted to America on December 12th, 1776, Chester became part of newly created Pennsylvania under George Washington’s rule. During this time it experienced rapid growth due to its strategic location for trade with England and its exemption from military service throughout much of America’s Revolutionary War period; however, following annexation into Ohio in 1801 it lost some key commercial valued land until becoming an entirely rural community again by 1830. Despite these challenges – including several fires that destroyed entire blocks of community between 1857-1858 – Chester long ago enjoyed a reputation as one of America’s most vibrant locales with an active nightlife and thriving retail sector dating back to the late 19th century.

The population of Chester reached 12,000 in 1870. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the city of Chester experienced heavy growth as it became a center for manufacturing and transportation. The industry declined during the Great Depression but has since resumed with new companies moving to the city.
