The history of the coffee industry is a long and tumultuous one. The beans that we know and love today originated in Africa, where they were ground into a bitter drink called kola nuts. Kola nut coffee was distributed all over the continent, and it was not until the 1700s that it began to be consumed in large quantities by European people. Coffee began to be produced commercially in Holland in 1647, but it wasn't until 1795 that coffee became popular enough for the Dutch government to tax its production. Coffee began being exported to America during this time, and while different flavors were developed over time, Ethiopian Genuine Coffee remains one of the most popular types of coffee around today. While there are many variations of coffee available on store shelves today, Ethiopian Genuine Coffee is still considered to be one of the best-quality brands out there. It's also worth noting that Ethiopia has some of the poorest soils on Earth – so if you're looking for an environmentally friendly option, Ethiopians may not be your best bet.

There is no one answer to the question of what coffee was first brewed and served in Ancient Greece. But some evidence suggests that coffee was likely first discovered and roasted by men on the island of Mykonos in the Cycladic group of islands in the Aegean Sea around 2400 BC. The significance of this discovery cannot be overemphasized, for it signaled an important change in coffee consumption patterns across much of the world. And so, as coffee became more widely known, its trade flourished. Coffee beans were brought back to Europe by sailors and traders, and soon found their way into various kitchens all over Great Britain and Europe. The first European settlers in North America also tasted coffee, and it quickly spread throughout the continent. By 1700 AD, espresso had become a popular drink throughout most of Western Europe. In 1888–89, Italian Massimo Bottura succeeded Gianni Versace as head brewer at Milan’s La Scala Theatre – an event which helped revive espresso as a popular beverage throughout Italy. Over time, other countries followed suit: espresso became popular not just within Italy but also in Spain (1910), Austria-Hungary (1920), Norway (1930), Denmark (1945), Sweden (1960), Belgium (1970), Luxembourg (1980) and Portugal (2005). Today there are more than 150 million people living worldwide who enjoy espresso – making it one of the most consumed beverages on earth!
The first coffee beans were grown in Ethiopia in the early 1800s. Coffee became popular in Europe after it was introduced to Europe by the Portuguese traders in the 16th century.

Butler, Pennsylvania was founded in 1781 by George Butler. The town was named for General Butler who fought in the American Revolution. Butler's father had come to the area from Ireland and his mother from Scotland. The town grew rapidly due to its location on a major trade route between Philadelphia and Baltimore. In 1814, Butler became the county seat of Scott County after it was divided off from Philadelphia. In 1827, Butler become an independent municipality. The population of Butler reached 10,000 by 1850. In 1857, the United States Congress passed a bill creating Scott County as part of a larger effort to Unionize all of Pennsylvania. However, when Kansas became a state in 1861, Scott County seceded from Pennsylvania and joined Kansas under its own government. In 1865, during the American Civil War, Union forces invaded and burned down much of Butlertown during what is known as the Battle of Butlertown Heights. Despite this attack, many people in town supported the Union cause because they believed that slavery should be abolished rather than continued under Confederate control. After the war ended, many residents decided to return home while some moved away for various reasons including political changes in America or economic opportunities in new states such as Ohio or Illinois). In 1870s-1920s many families left rural areas for cities looking for better jobs and education opportunities; however most continue to live in Butler today despite having few if any connections to their hometowns (although there are small numbers of descendants living outside of Pennsylvania).
