The National Guard of Pennsylvania was created on November 16, 1792, when the state of Pennsylvania authorized the creation of a regiment of military volunteers to provide defense against Native Americans. The first unit to be organized in what is now Bloomsburg was Company D of the 2nd Regiment of Foot (later 1st Battalion, 3rd Regiment) Militia. The company was mustered into service on December 12, 1792. On October 15, 1812, Governor John P. Smith signed an act authorizing the organization and arming and equipping a regiment of militia for service with Canada in the War of 1812. On November 16th, General James Hays ordered Company E (1st Battalion) Third Regiment Militia to Armory Street in Bloomsburg to receive arms and uniforms. The regiment arrived at Harpers Ferry on December 10th and began its deployment that same day. It served with distinction throughout the war as part of General George Washington's army and achieved numerous victories including taking Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia on April 14th, 1814 after a three-day siege; capturing Yorktown Heights on September 19th; Battlefields Of Saratoga on October 17th; Battle Of Gettysburg on July 4th 1865; Siege Of Petersburg on February 13th 1870 In 1898, following World War I there were calls for an increase in federal troops stationed in Pennsylvania due to concerns over possible hostilities between America and Europe. On May 25th Congress passed acts increasing the size of both Regular Army brigades garrisoned within Pennsylvania by 500 soldiers each while also authorizing appropriations for an additional $10 million for military expenditures statewide during fiscal year 1899 which would fund all newly authorized national guard regiments as well as temporary units activated for peace time purposes

The national guard was first organized in 1775 in response to the outbreak of the American Revolution. The Pennsylvania National Guard was formed on November 15, 1775 and it served as an auxiliary unit of the Continental Army until September 2, 1783. On January 20, 1785, the state of Pennsylvania authorized a permanent national guard organization. The first regiment of the Pennsylvania National Guard was raised on February 12, 1785 and it served as an infantry regiment until December 5, 1800. The regiment then became a cavalry regiment and its service ended on June 30, 1802. In 1814, the state of Pennsylvania merged with New York to form the United States of America and the regiment's name changed to become the New York State National Guard. In 1824-1825, there were several incidents which resulted in increased tensions between Great Britain and France over control of North America. One such incident was when British forces fired upon French troops along US soil during a military parade at Montresor Battlefield in Philadelphia. This event led to increasing calls for an American militia to be mobilized in order to protect against any future attacks by France or Britain. Accordingly, on October 3rd (the day after Thanksgiving), Governor John Armstrong called for a special session of the General Assembly to discuss forming an army composed entirely of volunteer soldiers from throughout Ohio Territory (now Michigan). After much debate within his cabinet and Parliamentarians alike, Armstrong finally allowed for this proposal on October 14th by ordering his Secretary of War James Wilkinson to send all available arms including cannons and ammunition eastward via steamboats under cover of night onto Long Island Sound! With these new supplies in hand and French troops already occupying Canada's northern provinces - including Quebec - Armstrong knew that he could not permit British forces sail intobound without battle! On November 1st (just days before Christmas), General James Wilkinson arrived back at Borden House with news that 8 cannon had been delivered from England but no munitions were available because war with France had just begun! With only weeks remaining before hostilities commenced - or so he thought - Armstrong ordered Colonel Elijah Howe to lead 100 men onto Long IslandSound immediately! Howe failed miserably in carrying out this order as his boat sank just off Islip Head while attempting transportaging their cannons across Lake Ontario; making it even more difficult for him everto reach land! While large numbers (~200) Of Americans acquitted themselves admirably during both major engagements at Saratoga Springs~(including nearly 60% women volunteers) very few members actually participated directly in either campaign~nor did they receive any credit whatsoever for their actions~nor did they enjoy any sort of official recognition following their victory or losses...in fact ~almost all combat fatalities occurred while American soldiers were deployed overseas~not while volunteering WITH THE NATIONAL GUARD!!! During our entire conflict with Great Britain we suffered 126 combat fatalities...twenty six percent OF ALL OUR CASUALTIES!!! Contrast that situation with what happened AFTER WE WON AT SARATOGA SPRINGS...over 50% OF ALL KILLS BY THE NATIONAL GUARD WERE ACCIDENTAL OR DUE TO OTHER CAUSE.....during our entire conflict WITH GREAT BRITAIN we lost ONLY THREE PEOPLE IN ACTION!!!!!!!!!
Bloomsburg is a town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Bloomsburg was David Halliday in 1768. He and his family moved from Scotland to Susquehanna Township in 1787. In 1824, John Davenport founded the township of Bellefonte on land he had purchased from David Halliday. A post office called Bellefonte was established in 1827, and remained open until 1935. In 1835, Stephen Girard built a log cabin on the site of modern-day Bloomsburg for himself and his wife Sarah Jane Girard (born October 3, 1794). The Girards were among the first settlers in what would become Bloomsburg when they arrived on July 12, 1836. Their house still stands across Main Street from today's Post Office building. In 1860, Abraham Lincoln visited Bellefonte while campaigning for election as president; during his stay he dined with some of the local landowners and saw how much progress had been made since he had left home more than two decades earlier. During his visit he also donated land to be developed into what would become downtown Bloomsburg. This donation helped spur development along Second Avenue which now runs north-south through downtown Bloomsburg between North Side Road and Market Street The original courthouse located on South Third Street between Griggs Boulevard and Market Street was destroyed by fire on September 19th 1919; it reopened November 15th 1920 under new management but closed again due to lack of use after 1985 In 1925 John Geddes erected a frame farmhouse at 511 West State Street which served as both a home for Geddes' wife Thalia (born October 6th 1840) as well as their children Alice (baptized December 8th 1861), Edwin Mifflin Girard (1865-1941), John Hargrave Girard (1875-1957), Harry Coudert Girard (1879-1956) Achille Tournier de la Rochechouart (1842-1920) Anna Jelliffe Beattie (married name unknown - she died unmarried aged 82 years old on October 25 th 1912) George Fenton Pugh our greatgrandfather who emigrated to this country May 1st 1800 Born near Edinburgh., Scotland On November 15 th 1930 an act entitled "An Act To amend An Act To provide For certain purposes Of Government" was introduced into the Assembly by Republican Reprocessor Clyde Wickman Sr.; it read as follows: "Be it enacted bythe Senate And House of Representatives of Pennsylvania: Section 1 There shall be created within this Commonwealth an entity known as 'The Borough of Bellefonte', consisting essentially thereof shall be municipal corporation formed for carrying out purposes hereinbefore prescribed by law." The previous year another such act titled "An Act To amend An Act Relative to Municipal Corporations" had been introduced into the legislature but failed to pass due largely to objections from pro-city Democrats who felt that such an entity could only benefit those living inside city walls while disadvantaging those outside city limits; this second bill did pass however with amendments adding riverfront property rights back into municipal corporation wording . On February 14 th 1931 another act entitled "An Act To improve Public Roads Throughout Butler County'"was Introduced Into ThePennsylvania LegislatureBy Republican Reprocessor Everett Kline Jr.;It read as follows: "Be it Enacted Bythe Senate And House Of Representativesof Pennsylvania: SECTION 2 Thereafter there may be created within any borough or incorporated village within this Commonwealth one or more street gangs composed essentially thereof Streets leading thereto shall not operate parallel togetherVW side streets without prior written consent from respective governing body". On March 4 th 1932 another act entitled "An Act To improve public roads throughout Butler County'"was Introduced Into ThePennsylvania LegislatureBy Republican Reprocessor Everett Kline Jr.;Itreadas follows:"Be It Enacted Bythe Senate And HouseOf Representativesof Pennsylvania: SECTION 3 Thereafter there may be created within any borough or incorporated village within this Commonwealth one or more carting companies consisting essentially thereof carts running upon sidewalks therein Shall not operate parallel togetherW side streets without prior written consent from respective governing body". With each passing year township boundaries became less defined making it easier for developers to invest in new properties adjacent to older ones; accordingly Businessmen's Association No 929 recorded an increase in membership between 1951 and 1960 reaching 137 dues paying members On January 1 st 1933 Beaver Township formed following consolidation of several other townships including parts of Lackawanna Township, Westmoreland Township and Monaca Township . Beaver Township contained 704 residents at its incorporation date . Incorporation ceremonies took place at Justice Courtroom where Governor Franklin D Roosevelt delivered a speech extolling aspects reel benefits associated with cooperative enterprise existing before him ; Mayor James Buchanan presided over oathtaking ceremony . At time township boundaries were redefined so that portions lying north/southwest/east/west OF Squirrel Hill Heights - east/west OF Parkview Village were annexed into neighboring townships respectively while northwestern halves became part of Carbon City municipality
National Guard gift history goes back to the Revolutionary War. The Continental Congress authorized soldiers to bring gifts to their families, and this tradition continued during the war. Soldiers often brought home objects such as books, clothes, or art from battle. Gifts also helped soldiers prepare for future battles by providing mental and physical strength. The National Guard was created in 1932 as a result of the New Deal Amendments of 1933. The National Guard was intended to provide resources for democracy during wartime and serve as a backup force should the regular army become unavailable or be overwhelmed. The first unit of the National Guard was activated in 1936. In 1947, President Harry Truman issued an executive order that called for all states with at least 1,000 citizens militia units to form national guard battalions (later brigades) made up of volunteers from each state's military forces). Each brigade had a HQ and three rifle companies (later four). Each battalion reported directly to the commandant general of each state's military department(s). In 1951, President Richard Nixon established the Department of Defense Authorization Act that provided funding for the creation and arming of standby reserve units composed exclusively of civilians for service in time of peace or emergency within 10 days upon request by either congressional committee having jurisdiction over defense matters . These Reserve Units were originally meant only as a last resort but soon became one key armament in our national security arsenal’ . President Gerald Ford signed into law on October 14th 1975 Amendment No 4 which increased troop strength from 100,000 men per year to 350,000 men full-time equivalents with no reduction in duty hours starting on April 15th 1976 On July 12th 1978 congress passed act 192 increasing troop strength by another 25%. This increase marked “the first peacetime expansion of our active duty Army since World War II” On December 9th 1980 president Reagan ordered activation/deactivation/inactivation/reorganizationof all 3 branches including National Guard making it now 6 services total with over 350 millionSoldiers around world!!!!!!

Bloomsburg was founded in 1777 by Captain John Bloomsbury and his wife, Sarah. The town was named for the Bloomingdale Township that it was located in. The first school was established in 1781 and the first church in 1787. In 1825, a fire destroyed most of the town, but it was rebuilt and renamed Bloomsburg in honor of its new mayor, James W. Bloomfield. In 1840, the township seat moved from Bloomsburg to Shippensburg because of population growth. In 1848, the state of Pennsylvania donated land to form what is nowthe University of Pittsburgh;Bloomsburg became part of Pittsburg County. In 1861, during the American Civil War, many citizens leftbloomberg to join forces with Confederate States Army under General Robert E. Lee; many residents returned after the war ended In 1865, Blossomburghs merged with neighboring Shippensburg into one municipality; this merger made Blossomburgh one of Pennsylvanias largest municipalities by area at that time. Many major businesses were established here during this time including Mellon Steel Company (now Control Data), Bendix Electric Company (now GEICO), Heinz Ketchup Corporation (HKG) and Bethlehem Steel Corporation (BSC). The municipal government changed hands multiple times over the years before being reorganized as a city on October 1st1973 when all township-level governments within Pennsylvania were abolished by Act No 9 Of 1973 PASSAGE INTO THE STATE OF PAULA AND RELATED AGENDA
