The Marine Corps Deployment Gift History Museum is a museum located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania that displays the history of Marines and their gift giving traditions. The museum was founded in 1992 and is dedicated to preserving the Marines' deployment gift history and helping to promote military appreciation through education. There are more than 3,000 items on display at the museum, including items from World War II to present day. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is a small town located in the counties of Butler and Lancaster in Pennsylvania. The population was 9,767 at the 2010 census. Bethlehem is one of the oldest towns in Pennsylvania and has been inhabited by humans since before European settlers arrived in the area. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Bethlehem were French traders who visited the area during the early 17th century. The area was part of Northampton County when it was formed from part of Philadelphia County on December 12, 1682. In 1824, Bethlehem became a borough within Butler County; its charter was granted on May 5 that year. On January 1, 1800, Bethlehem became a village under control of Easton Township; its charter was granted on February 15 that year. On October 3rd of that year, Bethlehem acquired land along Sixth Street between Market and Vine Streets from John Browning for $1 per acre (0·50 pesetas). The town plat was filed on November 14th and confirmed by deed on December 20th. On November 28th, 1800, Jonathan Dayton purchased from Nicholas Simons three acres (1 km²) north-west of where Bethlehem now stands for $2 per acre (0·75 pesetas). Two days later he sold two more acres (1 km²) northwest to David Levy for $3 per acre (0·90 pesetas). During the early years of settler arrivals in what is now Bethlehem there were few homes or buildings constructed other than outhouses and barns used as summer residences by farmers who could not afford permanent housing until after 1819 when construction began on what would become downtown business districts such as Third and Fifth Streets which are still visible today despite being extensively renovated during the past several decades by businesses such as Apple Inc., Comcast Corporation., Sears Holdings Corporation., Google LLC., Uber Technologies Incorporated.,and many others. It should be noted that as time passed people began to come to this area seeking opportunities for work rather than live off subsistence farming like many did back then so buildings started popping up all over without much effort from those behind them except to clear land for agriculture purposes making it difficult if not impossible to document these structures even though they can still be seen today if you happen to wander around looking for them! powerlines running through town made life very difficult back then but thankfully those have been taken down or replaced with modern equivalents

The Marine tradition of birthday and Christmas present-giving began in the 1800s, with Marines sending small items to their friends and family on special occasions. By the 1920s, Marines had started receiving large amounts of gifts at home on holidays. In World War II, Marines deployed with40th Infantry Division presented cigarettes to troops as a service to humanity gesture. Bethlehem was founded in 1739 as a small trading post on the Susquehanna River by Nicholas Penn. The town grew rapidly, and by 1800 it had a population of over 10,000. Bethlehem became an important center for trade and manufacturing. It also served as the capital of Pennsylvania from 1784 to 1786. In 1801, Bethlehem was renamed Philadelphia after General George Washington's victory at Yorktown. The city experienced dramatic growth during the 19th century. It became one of the most important industrial cities in America with its heavy reliance on cotton production. Bethlehem also played a significant role in the American Revolution by providing munitions and soldiers for the war effort. In 1913, Bethlehem was designated as the state capital of Pennsylvania. However, Philadelphia continued to be both its largest and most influential community throughout much of the 20th century. In 1933, Bethlehem was annexed by Philadelphia along with other municipalities in what is now called northeast Philly. However, local sentiment againstPhiladelphia's growing commercialism led to protests and a boycott campaign that failed to reverse decades-long trends of decline in economic activity within downtown Philadelphia. After years of stagnation and decline, downtown Philly saw a resurgence beginning in the late 2000s through new development and investment spearheaded by Mayor Jim Kenney
