The Berwick Air Force Base Gift History began on October 1, 1941 when the United States Army's 413th Bombardment Group was activated at the base. The group's first assignment was to bombardment duty in the Philippines. On December 8, 1941, the unit bombed Japan's capital of Tokyo, becoming one of the few USAAF units to do so. The 413th BG would be deployed to Guam in February 1942 and participate in operations against Japanese forces there before returning to United States soil in late May 1942. In early 1943, elements of the 433rd BG were activated at Berwick AFB and soon proved themselves as area bombers of distinction during Operation Torch which led up to World War II. In November 1943, while based at RAF Boulogne-Billancourt in France, the 433rd BG delivered a devastating Liberator bombing raid on an airfield near Paris which caused great damage and killed many personnel. Upon its return home in mid-December 1943, elements of this unit again took part in Operation Overlord by attacking airfields throughout southern England; they also participated in other campaigns including those against Berlin and Marseilles. The 433rd BGwould later be reassigned from Europe to Africa where it operated from bases such as Algiers and Tripoli untilactivation at Foggia AB Italy on October 15, 1946 as part of Strategic Air Command (SAC). During its fifteen years activation at Berwick AFB gift history included: - A C-47 Skytrain belonging to 431st FS (Berwick) flew into service with 437th FG (North Carolina) on October 20 1947; remained with that unit until it transferred "home"to 387th FG(Arizona) on June 30 1959; then flew with 388th FG (New Mexico) until it joined SAC permanently on August 12 1961; all three units moved their headquarters back here prior to relocating here permanently upon SAC establishment effective September 181966 - An A-26P aircraft serial number 592-4627 donated by General Electric Company for use by 913 FW/4 assigned hereonc February 3 1948 ( mourners could only touchLtCol Neil Armstrong’s plane after his death ); current is attached directly thereto - A C-119 Flying Fortress Serial No 04012 donated by Boeing Aircraft Company for use with 436 FW/2 assigned hereonc Apr 17 1951; current is attached directly thereto

Berwick is a small town in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,865 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lancaster County. The area now known asBerwick was first settled by Europeans in 1795. The first settler was John White and his wife Deborah who arrived from Ireland with their two daughters and built a cabin on the edge of what is now downtown Berwick. In 1814, Nicholas Myrick founded a gristmill here and also raised chickens for milk and eggs. He named the mill after his friend, Sir George Beaumont, 2nd Baronet (1763-1827), who had been Governors of Nova Scotia and New York City before becoming a British MP in 1810. The original brick courthouse stood on the site of modern day Market Square until it burned down in 1865 while under construction by then-Mayor John Prentice to match an existing courthouse nearby that had already been built by judge James Catlin. A new courthouse was erected on State Street between Third and Fourth Streets in 1872, still standing today as part of the Lancaster County Courthouse Complex. In 1903, commissioners voted to name Berwick after Rear Admiral David Denniston Campbell (1821-1912) who had played an important role during World War I as Commandant of Destroyer Squadron 5th Fleet at Hampton Roads Naval Station where he developed close personal relationships with many American admirals including Franklin D Roosevelt and Harry S Truman After World War II most manufacturing moved out of town to other areas such as Castle Shannon or Wilkesbarre because technology became more advanced than ever before making products available online or over the phone which made transportation less expensive especially when production increased overseas following wars like WWII etc.. However there were some exceptions such as JEP plastics located here since 1975 doing business under the name North American Plastics until they closed its doors in 2014 due to lack of customers/opportunities outside Philadelphia which left this company without any competitors for almost 25 years….. however they have reopened under another name again

Berwick, Pennsylvania is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. Berwick is known for its cheese and wine production, as well as its historical significance as the capital of the Shawnee Nation. The first permanent settler in what is now Berwick was James White in 1799. In 1812, Colonel John Armstrong founded Armstrong's Store here. The store became a post office in 1814 and later changed its name to Armstrong's Mills. In 1824, the town was incorporated and named for General James Fenton Berwick who had fought in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). The first schoolhouse was built here in 1825. In 1850, Jethro Gibbs opened his own grocery store and tavern called "The Gables". This led to other businesses opening up and people starting settling into the community; by 1860 there were 10 homes and 120 residents. By 1870 it had increased to 300 residents with over 20 businesses operating. In 1875/76 Daniel Sheehan started a millinery business which continued until 1984 when it closed due to economic problems within the industry. In 1886/87 Wm Hargrave erected a new sawmill which he ran until 1917 when it became part of United States Steel Corporations operations at Lackawanna Falls downstream from Duquesne River Gorge National Recreation Area after being bought by US Steel from Bethlehem Steel Company on December 12th 1912 for $1 million dollars cash plus accrued interest totaling $2 million dollars at 6%. On January 3rd 1920 US Steel Corporation merged with Bethlehem Steel Company forming American Harvester company which operated mills along rivers like Lackawanna Falls until 1984 when these mills closed too also because of economics within this industry etc.). With all this history one would think that Berwick would have more famous citizens such as Andrew Carnegie but sadly not really... Berwick has some pretty interesting history nonetheless!
