In 1892, Nicholas Roebuck founded Nicholas Coffee Company in Allentown with a single roast of K-Cup coffee. The company continued to operate until it was sold in 1987 to two brothers, Edwin and Neil Bendix. At their new business, they introduced a new coffee blend that became famous throughout the tri-state area: The Bendix Blend. The Bendix Blend has been described as “smooth and delicious” and is said to be “the perfect cup of Joe for those who appreciate well-made espresso drinks without all the extra work.” After years of success with The Bendix Blend, Edwin & Neil decided to sell the business in 2003 to another brother, Johnnie Cihon. Johnnie started out small but quickly grew successful selling three different blends: Java Fists; Dutch Oven; and Double Trouble—all made using premium beans from local roasters including Ben & Jerry's, Peet's Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee Company, etc. These days Johnnie Cihon continues production of The Bendix Blend while also opening up his own retail store called "Johnnie's Coffee".

In 1846, Nicholas Biddle founded the Allentown Coffee House. The coffee house was one of the first in the area and it is still open today. In 1861, John Wanamaker opened his Wanamaker's Coffee House in Allentown and this became one of the largest coffee houses in the area. In 1892, Dwight D. Eisenhower became president of United States and he frequented Wanamaker's Coffee House for breakfast.
Allentown is a city in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 58,549 at the 2010 census. Allentown is the largest city in Lackawanna County and third-largest city in Pennsylvania after Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. It has a population density of 562 people per square mile (224/km²). The first European settlers were Dutchmen who arrived during the 1660s. They named the town "Willemstadt" after Governor Willemstadt of Holland. The name changed to "Allentown" on May 25, 1768 when George Washington visited the town while leading his army through Lancaster County. On July 4, 1776, General Washington's army marched through Allentown on their way to Yorktown Court House as part of Operation Neptune's Spear. The all-Union victory at Yorktown ended British rule in America and put an end to the American Revolution. In 1853, Allentown became a borough with a mayor and six trustees; it withdrew from commonwealth government on April 15, 1855. In 1861, during the American Civil War, Confederate forces under General Robert Eicke invaded Allegheny County and destroyed much of what remained of Union forces before withdrawing southward into Virginia without fighting any battles or taking any prisoners or infrastructure damage; this event is generally called Sherman's raid on Allentown because it took place near what is now Mount Hope Cemetery just east of downtown Allentown proper The borough rejoined Commonwealth government on January 1st 1870 when it was reorganized as a township with seven trustees representing single wards within its borders; it again withdrew from commonwealth government on April 15th 1865 following passage by Congress of an act providing for statehood for both Pennsylvania and Delaware as well as for all other counties in New Jersey which did not become states until that date On November 3rd 1913 due to Home Rule legislation being passed by then governor John Wirtz (D), Aliquippa Borough became an unincorporated community within limits established by him that same day within Philadelphia Township

Allentown is a city in western Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 26,471 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lehigh County. Allentown is located on the east-west main line of the Pennsylvania Railroad and is bordered to the north by Bethlehem, to the south by Reading, and to the west by Hazleton. The name "Allentown" was first given to this town in 1753 when French traders named it pour leurs Canadiens allant à la pêche sur les eaux de Conestoga Creek (now Allentown Creek). The name means " Landing Place" or "Place for landing people." Allentown's location on Canisteo Creek made it an important early transportation hub. In 1825, John Dallaire founded what would become known as Dallaire Paper Company which became one of Pittsburgh's largest paper companies. The arrival of railroads in America changed everything for Allentown. By 1855, Allegheny County had two railroad lines: the Western Pa Railroad andthe Erie Canal Railway. One evening that year, while traveling through town on his way home from work, George Washington stopped at a local bar called O'Neill's for a drink before going on his next trip into North America. This historic event helped fuel oil production in nearby Bethlehem which led to more jobs and development around Allentown than ever before! In 1865 John Fenton built a sawmill at Cumberland Gap just outside of town and soon began producing lumber products such as pine boards and particleboard for area businesses and homes. Lumber mills were also built throughout Northeast PA during this time with Allentown becoming world headquarters for Cedar Rapids Cement Corporation (CRC) after its establishment there in 1915
