As coffee beans are roasted, they undergo a complex process that includes roasting the beans in both fresh and processed conditions. In earlier times, coffee was roasted fresh on site. However, time-consuming and expensive methods were used to roast coffee which resulted in poor quality beans. In 1853, an American named Nicholas Flournoy introduced the use of cold pressing in order to produce high-quality coffee. This method involved crushing the coffee beans and then extracting their water, oil and flavorings using a pressurized container. The resulting bean paste was then stored at -10 degrees Celsius for up to twelve weeks before being placed into boiling water with a tiny amount of salt or sugar to cleanse it of anyurities. In 1903, Alfred Peet started roasting his own beans under the name "Peet's Coffee". This brand is still in operation today and produces some of the best quality coffees in town. By 1924, Dutch Roasters had opened a facility in Allentown which became one of the most important roasteries for Philadelphia's coffee industry. In 1945, Bethlehem Roasters began production at their new factory located on Easton Road in Allentown. At this point, Allentown had become home to one of America's most important coffee manufacturing facilities as well as one of its most popular tourist destinations for those who love good espresso drinks!

In 1898 it changed its name to "Allentown" after General John Forbes alluding to what he thought would be an easier transition for business people moving from Winchester to Allentown; however this name change did not help with local confusion over which town should be called "Allentown". In 1916 the first steel plant in America was built in Allentown using blueprints drawn up by George Wirtz Jr., who also designed the leasing process for that plant and helped get it started The steel plant closed in 1979 but left a lasting legacy on nearby Valley Forge Army Airfield which still stands today as one of America's largest airfields - providing three runways (1940s vintage) and more than 2 million dollars worth of infrastructure improvements since then including an expansion plans which included building a fourth runway which never came to fruition due to economic reasons In 1978 John DeLorean bought land next to Valley Forge Army Airfield and began development into what would become DeLorean Motors LLCheadquartered there until 1985 when production moved back to Switzerland

The city proper was annexed by Philadelphia in 1898. In 2011, Allentown's economy was ranked as the tenth largest in Pennsylvania with a gross domestic product of $3 billion. Allentown is located at 38°54′N 76°24′W (38.922092°N 76.524389°W). According to the 2010 census, its total area is 33 acres (13 km²). The first settler in what would become Allentown was George Allens who arrived on October 9, 1736 from Connecticut via New York City with his family and five other people - three men and two women - under the leadership of Captain John Forbes. According to legend, when George landed on landing beach he found himself surrounded by hostile natives who killed all but one of his party including captain Forbes; however this story may be apocryphal or based upon another early settler's account which claims that George had a signet ring which helped him escape captivity at Kaskaskia Island after being taken captive by Native Americans during King Louis XV's War with France: "I have nothing to fear but death; hence I must suffer indignity." After spending some time exploring nearby points he decided on what would become his home base for several years until he met others who would help him found a township called Newtown in 1746/47 as part of an effort to settle western Susquehanna Township also known as Huntingdon County adjoining Bethlehem because it had been vacated by English settlers after Queen Anne's War between Great Britain and France which ended without any decisive victory for either side; thus Newtown became operational Jan 1st 1748 when 400 residents voted unanimously to form township according to original designations made therein...George Allens served as assessor throughout those years...In order that future generations might know our location we erected this marker on Route 6 near milepost 236 today just south of where Mr./Ms.(?) purchased their house back in 1984!
