Allentown is a city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the seat of Lehigh County. As of 2016, the population was estimated to be over 200,000 people. It is home to The Allentown Air National Guard Base, one of the largest active duty wings in the United States Air Force. The Allentown Air National Guard Base began operations on September 16, 1941 as an American military airbase in Allentown Township, Lehigh County. The first aircraft brought into service at AIB were three Curtiss P-40 Warhawks from Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington. The wing was activated on December 6, 1941 with ten planes and served as part of First Allied Expeditionary Force during World War II. AIB became operational as an all-weather base when it received its first Republic A-6 Intruder on February 17, 1945. AIB played a significant role in the Korean War by performing reconnaissance missions over North Korea and providing aerial refueling for United Nations Forces fighting against North Korea’s communist regime. In 1951–1952 AIB flew combat missions against Viet Cong forces located within South Vietnam following their withdrawal from that country to join North Vietnam’s Communist government under Prime Minister Ho Chi Minh. In 1966 AIB began providing humanitarian assistance to victims of Hurricanetnam which struck New England that year; this included providing medical supplies and relief flights across Canada and Mexico before landfall near Long Beach Island on October 13th followed by evacuation flights throughout New England; these efforts continued until January 1969 when civilian traffic restrictions forced closure of both airports effective February 1st following which all aid cargo departedAIB for Long Beach Island loading at 3:00 p.mET arriving at 4:00 p.mET having flown 9 ½ hours nonstop! From 1984 through 2003 AIB participated in Operation Desert Storm (Lebanon), Operations Joint Endeavor (Iraq), Operation Iraqi Freedom (UAE/Iraq) and Operation Noble Eagle (Syria). In each case they conducted aerial refueling support for ground forces engaged in hostilities ashore or afloat while also conducting airstrikes against targets ashore or afloat including several bridges vital to military activity along Iraq's coastlines! On July 5th 2017 US President Donald Trump accepted a gift certificate from Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud for $1 million USD recognizing Allentown's long history with the Saudi royal family

Allentown is a city in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Philadelphia. The population was 59,814 at the 2010 census. It has been the county seat of Lehigh County since 1839 and was also the municipal center from 1847 to 1902. However, due to its location within the limits of Philadelphia County until 1795, Allentown had little real power until it became an official municipality on February 15, 1902. The first permanent settler in what is now Allentown was Nicholas Weiser in 1795. He built a cabin on land he bought from the Lenape Indians near present-day Mount Airy Township. Weiser's cabin remains standing today and is commemorated by a plaque on Main Street in town. Some early settlers were John Butler and his family who came to what is now Bethlehem in 1798; George Washington Coye who settled along Lower Merion Creek in 1800; Abraham Lincoln who arrived around 1802; Isaac Norris who founded Upper Merion Township in 1806; David Levy and Solomon Snyder who founded Snyderstown around 1810; three brothers named Addis (1811-1812), Reuben (1813-1815), and Nancie (died young 1865) – all of whom are buried at Springvale Cemetery thereabouts. Most residents of those early days self-sufficiently raised crops or hunted game for their own sustenance. During the years following Indian Removal in 1830s many more people moved into this area as part of General James Fenton's effort to push back Native American squatters from Easton through Lehigh Valley settlements such as Allentown and Bethlehem. Many factors contributed to these new arrivals: intense European competition for labor during times of heavy population growth throughout North America; cheap land prices relative to wages elsewhere during this period; general deterioration of social conditions among frontier groups living amid harsh natural environments with scarce resources such as water, timber, grazing land, etc.; religious beliefs generally held sacred by newcomers that clashed with traditional values established among local natives; lack of education or transportation availability among many newcomer groups which made life difficult both before and after arrival). Physically large areas that had not been targeted by settlement activity were quickly filled with recent immigrants while smaller areas located near major waterwayside towns got only sparsely populated because boats could not access them easily. The influx continued through most of the 19th century but gradually slowed down due various reasons including increased agricultural production throughout much of North America which drew away workers needed for farms while railroads created jobs northward instead – eventually leading to rapid industrialization southward during this time period that destroyed much rural farmland along the way. In fact some historians have even argued that rough working conditions during this period actually helped spur Illinoisans into migrating en masse westward during Queen Victoria's reign – although there can be no definitive proof whatsoever! Nonetheless movement did take place nonetheless as more than one million Pennsylvanians left their homes between 1800 and 1860 alone! In 1922 Allentown became one unit withPhiladelphia when Lehigh County merged with Philadelphia County

Allentown became a borough in 1814, and it became a city in 1853. The population of Allentown reached over 200,000 by 1920.
