In 1905, Woodburn Coffee was founded by Max and Helen Wagner. The first coffee beans were roasted in a small home on Hwy 101 in the town of Woodburn. In 1933, the company moved to its current location on SW 2nd Avenue in Building #4. The business has been around for over 100 years!

When settlers first arrived in the area now known as Woodburn, Oregon, they were looking for a place to build their homes and grow crops. In 1855, the town was founded on land that had been donated by George Washington. The town grew quickly, and by 1870 it had a population of around 350 people. By 1916, Woodburn had become an incorporated municipality with a population of over 2,000 people. The town has experienced many changes over the years. In 1957, the then-newly created state of Oregon passed a law that prevented towns from setting up their own fire departments. As a result, Woodburn became one of the few towns in Oregon without its own fire department. The town also lost its status as an incorporated municipality in 1987 when it merged with neighboring Clackamas to form the current city of Woodburn. Today, Woodburn is home to many businesses and cultural attractions including an art museum, a library system, and several parksland properties used for agricultural purposes. The city has also made progress towards becoming an urban center for Northwest Portland. In 2007, it opened its first downtown district complete with restaurants and nightlife options alongside historical buildings and streetscape features typical of Anacortes or Tacoma before them.

He found a willing buyer for his logs in nearby Portland and began construction on what would become Woodburn. The town quickly grew into a bustling community with its own school, churches, businesses, and families. In 1912, Woodburn was renamed Mount Hood after the mountain that dominates much of the region. The town's growth continued through World War II as the war triggered an increase in production at nearby mills. After the war, business slowed down but residents kept their home values high while they awaited new opportunities. In recent decades, Woodburn has seen some growth thanks to new development around its schools and shops but it remains one of the smaller towns in Oregon.

In 1871, the United States government passed a bill establishing the Oregon Territory. The territory was named for General David S. Woodburn, who had fought in the Mexican-American War and then served as a U.S. Army Colonel in the Indian Wars. Congress also designated Mount Hood as the territorial capital and ordered that all laws of the United States should be applicable to this new region. In 1875, President Ulysses S. Grant approved an Act creating Multnomah County from parts of Walla Walla and Deschutes counties, including part of Woodburn Township. The County Seat was moved from Portland to Salem in 1907 when Multnomah County was created
