In the 1930s, Woodburn experienced another growth spurt, becoming one of the most vibrant cities in Oregon. During this time, the city built several large civic buildings and developed a strong economy based on agriculture and manufacturing. However, during World War II Woodburn again faltered due to wartime restrictions on trade and industry. After the war, growth slowed untilthe late 20th century when it resumed significantly with the addition of new businesses such as Microsoft and Nike Incorporated.
