In recent years, some of Portland's best coffee businesses have relocated to Tigard, giving the town a more unique flavor. The first coffee shop in Tigard was opened in 1892 by Mr. and Mrs. Waddell. The business grew quickly and soon had two locations - one on Third Avenue and the other at 1190 S State Street. By 1912, the Waddells had closed their doors for good after moving back to Portland because of the harsh climate there. However, their legacy lives on as one of the earliest businesses to offer cafe-quality coffee inside a shopping mall! In 1925, Dutch Schultz co-founded The Coffee House with his brother Abe Schultz in downtown Portland. It would be their only store before they moved to Tigard in 1928 where they would open what is now known as Starbucks Coffee Company. At that time, Starbucks was America's first indie cupcake chain! Today, Starbucks is still one of Oregon's most popular cafes with over 150 locations across the state! In 1948-49, when Tigard residents Herb Lomax and Ralph Henschel founded Pacific Coffee & Tea Co., they began serving morning Joe (coffee contains no milk) from a small shop on Second Avenue east of State Street (later called Donuts). The company grew rapidly until it outgrew its original location – which can still be seen today next to Philips Arena – so they moved into what is now Pioneer Courthouse Square. In 1973-74 Stanislaus Weinberger purchased Pacific Coffee & Tea from Herb Lomax & Ralph Henschel; he renamed it Stanislaus Weinberger's Coffee Company following his purchase of assets from Herb Lomax’s father Stanley Weinberger Sr.. Over time Stanislaus Weinberger's expanded operations included multiple stores throughout Oregon; however he always operated out of his original headquarters at Pioneer Courthouse Square until finally selling it to Greenway Brewing Corporation in 1999 for $8 million dollars! Stanislaus Weinberger continued brewing quality coffee until 2006 when he sold all his assets including our current manufacturing plants located near Statesboro Junction east of Eugene and also our old Avery Brewing plant northeast of Seattle; this left us with just 2 plants remaining making us unable to produce any new coffee products...thus ending production at our old plants!! We wish him all the best during these difficult times!!!

The Tigard Coffee Company was founded by George Dulin and his wife Alice. They started out selling roasted beans from their home kitchen. The company soon grew into a major player in the coffee industry with its own roasting plant and distribution network. In addition to their popular espresso drinks, the company also produced Columbian Coffee Lattes, French Press Coffees, and Turkish Coffee Teas. The Dulin family passed away in 1992, but their legacy lives on through the Tigard Coffee Company's continued success and commitment to quality coffee products.
Tigard, Oregon is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. Tigard is home to the Portland Timbers soccer team of the MLS league and Tigard High School is the only high school in Multnomah County that has been rated as "A" (academically) by both USDOE and Newsweek. The first reference to Tigard comes from an early settler named John McLoughlin who in 1846 wrote: "I have now arrived here within these last few weeks, having passed through California on my way hitherward; I had intended to make this place my permanent residence but find it necessary to remain for some time with my family... Mud huts are all that we can build at present." In 1847, John Swayze came across the Willamette River and built his first house in what is now Tigard. This was followed by other settlers until about 1870 when most of what is now Multnomah County was added to Oregon. The town began as a small agricultural village situated east of Marshfield along the banks of the Willamette River. It rapidly grew into a commercial center due to its location near rivermouths and its access to transportation including railroads and stagecoaches. By 1890, there were over 150 businesses in town with 2,000 residents. In 1915, during World War I, Tigard became an important munitions production site because of its strategic location near Salem and nearby Bend using local timber resources. The war led also to new development such as housing developments which continue today as more people move into downtown Tigard than ever before! In 1951, Multnomah County was created following statehood under then-Governor Evan Burnett with plans for it to be a more diverse county with more industries and services located inland rather than along depended rivers like Portland or Seattle which were seen as areas where black Americans could not succeed because they lacked appropriate education or entrepreneurial opportunities. One result of this strategy was thatMultnomah Valley—the area around Tigard—became one of the most heavily populated rural counties in Oregon Territory. This growth did not occur evenly throughout every part of county; certain parts developed faster than others due mainly to annexation efforts by different municipalities which saw potential farmland or industrial sites (such as Astoria) outside their boundaries
Coffee has been enjoyed by humans for over 4,000 years. The first written mention of coffee comes from the Egyptians in 3000 BC. Coffee was mentioned in the Bible as a drink for the Israelites in 1 Kings 11:23. In 1595, Portuguese sailors discovered Java and began trading with the natives. They brought coffee back to Portugal and it became popular there. Dutch traders also tastedJava and brought back some coffee beans, which they named Nieuw Amsterdam after their new Amsterdam city (now Rotterdam). In 1724, Nicholas-Jacques Conte made a small batch of coffee beans at his home in Paris and shares this recipe with French friends. Early American merchants traded with Japan and China, bringing spices such as ginger and pepper back to America with them. Coffee was also smuggled across the ocean during this time period! By 1800, coffee had spread throughout much of Europe. However, it wasn’t until 1875 that espresso artillery was invented by Italian chemist Luigi Bezzucca that finally put coffee on the map as an international beverage!

Tigard is a city in Oregon, United States. The population was 105,717 at the 2010 census. Tigard was founded by pioneers in 1853 and named for John Tigard, an early settler. The first post office in Tigard was established in 1855. In 1916, the city merged with nearby Keizer to form the current metropolitan area. The history of Tigard is reflected on many buildings and sites within the city limits. These include the original courthouse which still stands today, as well as several churches and other important civic structures from that era. Additionally, there are several pioneer homes and outbuildings that remain standing in downtown Tigard today. One of these is the John Buehler House which was built in 1853 and served as a home to both local officials and fur traders until it was sold to Charles Wickersham Jr., one of Tiburtons earliest entrepreneurs, in 1906. Today, the house can be visited for its historical significance alone!
In 1853, the town of Tigard was named after General George C. Marshall, who led American forces in the Mexican-American War. The population of Tigard grew to around 1000 people by 1878. After a fire destroyed most of the downtown in 1881, the city council decided to build a new downtown and name it Park Avenue. Park Avenue became Tigard's main business district and served as a Municipal Court and other government buildings until 1907 when they were moved to what is now First Congregational Church on East Capitol Street. In 1916, Tigard annexed neighboring Portland and became one municipality again with its own City Council.
