The history of the United States Army in Tigard, Oregon is a long and complex one. In 1862, a detachment from Company C (1st Battalion) 6th Infantry Regiment also arrived in Oregon Territory to help build Fort Sumner; however, this detachment did not serve long due to lack of troops and was disbanded soon after its arrival. In 1865, another detachment from Company C (1st Battalion) 6th Infantry Regiment arrived in Oregon Territory to help build Fort Douglas; however, this detachment also did not serve long because it too had no troops and was dissolved soon after its arrival too. Thereafter until 1898 when Congress passed an act givingchy pushed for an all volunteer army by ordering all US military units be phased out within six months; therefore companies were reorganized into regiments with 1-3 year terms instead of 1-3 years terms like before which meant that most soldiers served 3 or 4 years before being discharged or transferred overseas for duty abroad again. However some soldiers like Corporal George Fenton who had originally served with Company D (1st Battalion) 7th Infantry Regiment stationed at Bendigo Barracks remained garrisoned at Bendigo Barracks until their discharge or transfer abroad for duty abroad once more which shows just how popular these type of wars were back then especially since they could be done quickly and easily without having any lasting impact on society or culture like now where service can take many years off your life even if you don’t get drafted or deployed directly When World War I began America declared war on Europe on April 12 1916 This action caused much worry among our people as we know very little about warfare We knew nothing about artillery bombardment We knew nothing about trench warfare or machine guns Our only experience came from reading magazines such as Punch magazine It wasn't until 1917 that we started learning about planes and joined up with other countriesWWI changed everything for us American soldiers . After the war ended, some construction stopped and the population decreased until reaching its current level around 23,000 people in 2000.
