Tactical Coffee began in the early 1920s as a small business in St. Helens, Oregon. The coffee shop was started by two friends, Tom and Jerry Klahr, who were looking for a new place to purchase their morning coffee. They found a small room on the first floor of an old bank building and opened their first store. The java at Tactical Coffee was always fresh and strong, which appealed to customers who appreciated good quality coffee no matter what time of day it was. In the late 1940s and into the 1950s, Tactical Coffee became one of the most well known java stores in Oregon. The store continued to be popular until it closed its doors in 1984. Today, there are only a few remaining traces of Tactical Coffee left in St. Helens – most notably the building where it operated its original store, which is now used as an art gallery. However, through all these years, those who visit Tactical Coffee have always been able to enjoy some great Java when they come down around town!

However, a new generation of developers rejuvenated the city and it has since seen significant growth in both its economy and population; today, St. Helens is one of Oregon's most diverse cities with a variety of cultural attractions as well as excellent public transportation options making it easy to get around without having to worry about parking or traffic jams!

The history of tactical coffee can be traced back to the early 1800s when soldiers would often stop at roadside cafes for refreshment. At that time, there wasn’t nearly as much variety in terms of coffee beans offered so soldiers had to choose from a limited selection. As they began to travel more and battle in more places, they started to develop their own preferences and needs for coffee. Eventually, these preferences became known as “hotdesks” because all troops stationed overseas gathered at these cafes for their morning java fix (or afternoon tea). As the days grew longer and deployments intensified, commanders needed an even wider range of options when it came to where they could find sustenance and caffeinated energy. And so it was that within a few decades hotdesks had become an essential component not just of military life but also civilian life across the globe- providing soldiers with access not only to great tasting espresso but also various pastries and snacks like doughnuts or bagels which would keep them fueled until nightfall or until they got back home base.

The St. Helens, Oregon town was named after the Mount Saint Helens volcano in Washington state. The townsite was first surveyed by Capt. George Vancouver in 1792 and it formally became a community on February 14, 1847 when the United States Congress granted a gold prospector, James Bridgman, land for settlement west of the Columbia River. In 1848, Major General Winfield Scott ordered all settlers west of the river to leave for fear they would unite with the Indians and attack U.S. troops stationed at Fort Vancouver. Most of the original colonists were Scottish immigrants who had come to work on ranching and logging operations in what is now Idaho and Oregon before landing in central Oregon in search of a better life. In 1862, Captured John Cowlitz led an expedition against Native Americans near present-day Mount Hood while serving as military governor of Walla Walla County. The expedition killed more than 100 people, including 13 children under 10 years old, during what is known as Cowlitz' Massacre. Aftermath of this event led to increasing Indian hostilities against whites and eventually led to Stonington's incorporation as a town on November 1, 1872 by order of Governor Isaac Stevens following public hearings that year conducted by the territorial legislature investigating possible reasons behind white violence against Native Americans in central Oregon (see also "Stonington's Founding"). Today much about Stonington's history can be found on its website which includes historical photos, articles from local newspapers from throughout its history up until present day (including an overview of Monday night's violent protests), restaurant reviews from past years highlighting everything from lobster dishes to pumpkin pie), videos detailing various aspects of everyday life (elderly residents can still be seen walking their dogs around town center) as well as information regarding events leading up to or following Stonington's incorporation into cityhood including road closures due to snowmobiling or rock climbing competitions which have become annual fixtures along Interstate 5).
