The history of the Sherwood Police Department is a long and proud one. The department has been serving the community since 1892, when it was established as a volunteer organization. In 1923, the first police station was built inSherwood, and today, the department has over 100 officers sworn to protect and serve. One of the earliest gifts to the Sherwood Police Department came from Captain George Hargrave. Captain Hargrave donated a revolver to the department in 1892. In 1923, Captain John Sowell donated an ambulance to the Sherwood Police Department. This donation helped makeSherwood one of the most advanced law enforcement agencies in Oregon. Throughout its history, the Sherwood Police Department has received numerous donations from individuals and organizations alike. Some of these donations have come in large sums of money- such as captain George Hargrave's donation of $5,000- but also include items such as rifles and shotguns. These gifts have given members of theSherwood Police Department tools that they can use to protect our community both on and off duty.

Sherwood is a small town in Oregon, United States. It is located on the central plateau of the state and straddles the border of Clackamas County to the east and Multnomah County to the west. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. Sherwood was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers who had come from what is now eastern Oregon. It became an incorporated municipality in 1906. The town had a population of 6,521 as of 2010. According to the United States Census Bureau, Sherwood has a total area of , all of it land. As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 4,693 people, 1,827 households, and 1,342 families residing in the town. The population density was 813.0 people per square mile (317.4/km²). There were 2,907 housing units at an average density of 309.1 per square mile (118.3/km²). The racial makeup of Sherwood was 97% White; 0% African American; 0% Native American; 1% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latinoof any race were 3%. There were 1,827 households out of which 36% had children underthe ageof 18 living with them, 53% were married couples living together, 11% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29% were non-families

Sherwood is a small town in Oregon, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bend–Sherwood, Oregon Micropolitan Statistical Area. Sherwood was founded in 1854 by David and Mary Sherman. The first post office was established in 1855. In 1865, the town name was changed to Sherwood after John G. Sherwin who donated land for the town site. The community had a school until 1914 when it closed due to budgetary issues. In 1929, a new school building was built and dedicated to students from surrounding townships in Bend and Sheridan counties as part of an effort to improve education opportunities for all residents of the area. The old school building served as a library until 1978 when it too closed due to budget cuts. In 1984, another new school building was built and dedicated to students from Multnomah County- which included nearby Tualatin- which moved into the old building in 2002 following its closure by Multnomah County Schools). Today, there are only basic classes held at both schools due to lack of funding but they are still used for educational purposes by locals and tourists alike because they offer some semblance of continuity within their community history despite various changes over time
