Milwaukie, Oregon is a city located in the Bend region of the U.S. state of Oregon. Milwaukie was founded in 1877 by John Leland and named for its location on the Willamette River. The first coffeehouses in Milwaukie were established around 1907, during the early days of coffeegrowing in Oregon. The first coffeehouse in Milwaukie was called The Friends Meeting House and served as a social and educational resource for local farmers, teachers, laborers, and business people. In 1916, The Friends Meeting House was destroyed by fire; however, soon thereafter another coffeehouse was built adjacent to it which became known as The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The popularity of coffee-based entertainment began to increase in Milwaukie during the 1920s and 1930s; consequently, many businesses developed within walking distance of one or more coffeehouses. By 1938, there were at least six cafes operating within a two-mile radius of downtown Milwaukie; this number had increased to thirteen by 1945. During World War II, many local businesses closed their doors due to military service; however, several cafes continued to operate until after the war ended. During the late 1960s and 1970s, cafes such as Starbucks opened up throughout central Oregon; consequently, mostOfMilwaukee's commercial activity ceased shortly afterwards. However, some small businesses managed to remain open until at least 2000; these include Java Junction Gourmet Café (founded 1976), Cafe Dojo (founded 1984), and Happy Cow Coffee Co.(founded 1992). Some popular cafe menu items include drip coffees (most commonly white beans), creamsicles (made with ice cream or yogurt), pastas/burgers/pizza(usually with cheese), salads/veggies/frozen fruit etc., along with iced mimosas or sangria available all day long from various drink packages including house wine ($5 per glass) or sparkling water ($3 per glass).

The original mill complex was built around 1875 by John Cushingworth, a contractor with connections to Portland mills who designed buildings that are still standing today including the Millinery Building (now called The Regency), which used to be home to local Weyerhaeuser ice cream kiosks during summertime; Clackamas Plaza; Hwy 97 Bridge over Willamette River;and two other mills-the Pacific Glass Works (now First National Bank) on SW Morrison Street across from Pioneer Courthouse Square, where glass blowers made windows for trains coming out of Portland ;and J & S Paper Company on NE 4th Avenue near Amazonas Avenue NW). It soon became apparent that milling products would no longer suffice as Multnomah County's primary economic base, so businesses began moving away from downtown Milwaukie towards Salem or Portland . By 1904, much of what remain today south side streets between SE 2nd Avenue NE and I-5 were developed as business corridors with names like Grandview Boulevard (north side), Mayfair Boulevard (south side), Dewey Way (west side), West Side Highway (east side) etc., while northside streets continued undeveloped until they were developed into residential neighborhoods such as Northwood Heights/Downtown/South Park/ abnormalities such as Sandy Beach Drive eastward along old US 99 towards Vancouver Island before reaching present day Lloyd Center Blvd northwest corner Williamson Road just west offSR 503
