Mcminnville is a small town in Oregon located on the banks of the Willamette River. The population was 1,847 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salem-Keizer-Bellingham Combined Statistical Area. The first white residents of what is now Mcminnville were pioneers who settled there in 1853. They were led by James McDougall and their families. The community was named for General John C. McAllister, commander of United States cavalry forces during the Mexican–American War and afterward U.S Ambassador to Mexico City. In 1870, Jules Davenport founded a sawmill here which became one of Oregon's most important economic engines until it closed in 1972. The town was platted in 1881 when Halsey Guthrie donated land to be subdivided into blocks, and named them after his three daughters: Minnie, Belle and Mayme (Minnie being married to Waco Brown). These initial settler names are still used today within the limits of Mcminnville itself as well as adjoining unincorporated areas such as Walnut Creek Ranch and Cottonwood Heights. The first school building in what is now Mcminnville was erected on the corner of First Street and Sixth Avenue in 1883 by Mrs. Sallie Tilton with help from her husband Drury Tilton (a local doctor). It wasn't until 1949 when civic boosters established a water system that increased agricultural production around Main Street; this also included erection of five dams across Willis Creek resulting in an appellation change from "Willamette Valley Agricultural Center" to simply "McMinnellvilles". At various points throughout its history McMinnelvillians have gathered annually for an arts festival culminating with parade down Main Street followed by music at the Legion Hall afterwards - usually featuring some amazing artist or performance happening right there along side popular food vendors situated near Commercial Drive...

Mcminnville is a town in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area. The first permanent residents of Mcminnville were three families who arrived in 1872 from Illinois. They named their community after Presbyterian minister James McMillin and his wife Minerva. In 1876, the Canada Pacific Railroad extended its line through the town and introduced a new style of settlement called "McMINNVILLE" because it served as the central depot for all trains travelling between Vancouver and Portland. In 1886, two local men pooled their money to buy land near what is now downtown Mcminnville for $2 per acre (approximately US$ ). This land became known as "the Ranch". The site had been surveyed by Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez de la Rúa in 1795 while on his way to find a Northwest Passage through North America. The first house built in Mcminnville was a log cabin erected by myrtle growers J.H. Paddock and Wm Hite about 1880-1881 near present day Depot Square. After several years of construction, it burned down on October 2, 1889 due to an accidental fire started by one of the operators working at the depot; this tragedy marked the beginning of what would be known as "the Great Fire of 1890". It took over 10 years for insurance money to pay off from claims made against the building and it was not until 1923 that services finally resumed within city limits when Mayor Charles Condon negotiated with representatives from American Mutual Insurance Company regarding Lloyd's policyholders' claims against buildings destroyed or damaged during Prohibition-era raids by Chicago Police Department officers surnamed Kintyre and Prendergast which occurred around 1920-1921 although some evidence suggests these activities may have actually taken place earlier – prior to 1923? In 1946 when King George VI visited Mcminnville he enlarged both existing churches which had been built separately but adjacent timesgeistually on opposite ends of Center Square: First church being dedicated on May 25th 1947 followed soon afterwards by Second Baptist Church also dedicated on October 6th 1949 just before Christmas Day 1949 with only 4 months notice given! The reopening ceremonies took place inside both churches simultaneously with tearful expressions seen all around especially among children who’d spent many happy Christmastime mornings walking between those two iconic structures! How fortuitous then that they shared similar rooflines! Both old brick buildings are still standing today despite having suffered extensive damage caused during various fires over time but looking much more battered than when they were last used! All things considered though I guess you could say their story has ended happily ever after!
