Maga coffee is a type of coffee that originates from the bean of the maga palm. The beans are ground to a fine consistency and then roasted in small batches. This produces a smooth, rich cup of coffee that is perfect for enjoying in any environment. Maga coffee first began to be grown in La Grande, Oregon, back in the early 1800s. At that time, the area was home to many farmers who depended on wild beans for their coffee. As word spread about this delicious beverage, more and more people started to grow and roast maga beans themselves. Over time, maga coffee has become one of the most popular types of coffee around. Today, there are many different roasters who offer versions of maga coffee. Some favorites include Four Barrel Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, and Twin Peaks Coffee Company. All of these establishments provide quality cups of java that are perfect for any occasion!

Maga coffee is a unique coffee that was first roasted in the Dominican Republic. The beans are hand-selected and then roasted to perfection with a focus on flavor and texture. The beans are then ground into a fine powder and blended with other variations of coffee for an optimal cup experience.

In 1887, Eugene C. Dyer started the first coffee house in La Grande and named it the Coffee House on Willamette Street. The first store was open for business on December 8, 1887. In 1912, the Oregon Coffee Company was founded by W.T. Sprague and A.B. Skinner with a location at 707 NW Third Avenue in La Grande. In 1916, Jens Jensen opened a grocery store next to the coffee house and named it The Grapes of Wrath which still stands today at 737 NW Third Avenue in La Grande. Throughout the years, various businesses have been located near or on top of maga coffee houses like The Grapes of Wrath (now known as Bodega Bohemia), Eugene's Clothing Store (which is now closed), Harry's Barbecue & Grill (now known as Hooters), and others including: Beanotissimo Café (now defunct), Joe's Pizza Place (closed since 2002), Larry's Candy Shop (closed since 2004).

The name La Grande is most likely derived from the local Indian word meaning great or large. The site of present-day La Grande was first noted by Europeans in 1823 when Juan Bautista de Anza, captain of the Spanish ship Cristobal, sighted a group of rapids near what is now the city of Eugene. He named them San Francisco del Oro (St. Francis Of The Gold Rush), after his patron saint. The town of La Grande began to grow rapidly around this time and by 1848 had a population of over 1,000 people. By 1870 there were more than 5,000 residents and by 1880 it had reached 10,000 people. The town was designated as the county seat in 1885 but it continued to grow rapidly so much so that it became an incorporated city in 1895. In 1916 the City Council voted to rename La Grande as Oregon's capital because at that time all state capitals were located in New York City and Washington D.C.. La Grande has been home to many notable people throughout its years including three Ulysses S Grant Presidents; Salmon P. Chase, James Kensey and Franklin D Roosevelt; General Douglas MacArthur during World War II; Governor Neil Armstrong during Apollo 11; and author Alice Sebold who wrote her Pulitzer Prize winning novel “The Catcher in the Rye” here between 1951 and 1957 while living here with her husband Rickettsio Sebold on a farm just east of downtown La Grande

Maga coffee originates from the region of Central America, specifically in Nicaragua. The first mention of maga coffee is found in a Codex Atlántico dating back to the 15th century. This document mentions an alcoholic drink called “pagana” which was brewed with coffee beans. The first mention of coffee as a beverage was written by Marco Polo in 1248 AD. He noted that the locals were using coffee as their national drink and that it would be grown near their capital, Beijing. After trading with China for many years, Marco Polo became familiar with the process and ingredients used to produce maga coffee. In 1612 AD, Portuguese Jesuit priests discovered and traded with the native Nicaraguans who had been cultivating this type of bean since before Christopher Columbus’s visit to Nicaragua in 1493 AD. The Jesuits soon began distributing these beans throughout Europe and North America. In 1795 AD, Dutch traders reached Nicaragua and started trade with the indigenous people who already knew about and drank maga coffee. They introduced this new beverage to Holland where it quickly became popular among elites. Today, we enjoy maga coffee all over the world because it is such a unique flavor profile that few other beverages can boast of! The history behind this delicious beverage is fascinating and provides us insights into how various cultures have reacted to its popularity over time – something that truly sets maga apart from any other variety of beans on the market today!

La Grande was founded in 1847 as a small town on the banks of the Willamette River. The town grew rapidly and by 1875, La Grande had become an important trading center on the river. In 1886, the town became a city and retains that status to this day.
