Keizer, Oregon is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2000 census. It is the smallest city in Oregon and the second-smallest city of any kind in California. The first people to live here were the Umpqua Indians who hunted game and gathered plants and fruit on the Keizer River. In 1857, Captain George Vancouver went upriver to trade with them and discovered what would become Portland. He recommended that the United States government move his tribe back to their reservations so they could be closer to their families but they refused because they wanted to keep their culture alive. Captain Vancouver then founded what would becomePortland on December 6, 1853 as a trading post between America and China. In 1863, General William Tecumseh Sherman took control of Oregon from Mexico after its collapse at the Battle of Palo Alto and decided that this area should be allocated for American settlement because it had strategic advantages as well as being rich in resources like gold and lumber. The Umpqua Tribe didn't want this land taken away from them so they formed a resistance movement against Sherman which led him to retreat into Mexico City where he eventually surrendered on February 15, 1865. This event is still commemorated by an annual military parade through downtown Portland called "Tecumseh's March". Aftermath of Mexican War: Oregon Trail: In 1862 during the Civil War two volunteers named John Cushing and James Kapp travelled downriver from Springfield Armory Depot (now Eugene) via Nowhere Island just east of present day Keizer on account of seeing Confederates retreating upstream towards Medford while supplies were being moved upriver downstream around this time also taking note of an Indian encampment about three miles due south near present day Albany Park which was probably home to some 400 warriors under Chief Joseph Ayoub plus 600 or more followers living off hunting & fishing rights granted by US Army Major Robert Ewell Scammon per treaty negotiated with Tipu Sultan ceded by US when hostilities ceased

George Keizer was born in 1851 in what is now Hungary. He arrived at Ellis Island on September 14, 1881, and soon began working as a farmhand and laborer on American soil. In 1884, he migrated to America with his wife and two children, settling in Portland, Oregon. There he worked various jobs until he decided to start a business of his own – keizersware company. At that time, Portland was an agricultural center dominated by wheat growers and millers. GeorgeKeizer believed that Electric Power would change all that: through its efficiency it would make farming more efficient while at the same time reducing labor costs; this would create new opportunities for farmers all over America including himself! In 1924, after years of hard work and determination (and help from friends like Edison), GeorgeKeefeir became the first city in Oregon to be incorporated as a result of the Organic State Constitution Amendment (OSCA). This accomplishment helped solidify Keizer's place as one of Oregon's most vibrant communities - home to residents who are proud not just of their community but also their heritage which dates back centuries!
