The first place to purchase fresh roasted coffee was the New England Coffee Company on North College Street. In 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Charles de Forest established the Oregon Cattlemen's Cooperative that grew to be one of the largest coffee roasters in the country. They roast their beans in three different locations- an old barn on their farm east of town, a new facility near Beaverton, and finally a warehouse off Interstate 5 north of town. The first commercial roasting plant was built by Henson Brothers Coffee in 1922 just south ofpdx on I-5. It produced up to sixty thousand pounds of coffee each year and employed around eighty people at its peak production. After World War II, demand for fresh roasted coffee plummeted as other commodities such as soybeans increased in price. However, over time this trend reversed and now fresh roasted coffee is again becoming a popular commodity throughout Oregon.
Fresh roasted coffee beans are a deliciously potent and full-bodied beverage. Just like wine, they require time to steep in hot water before they can be enjoyed. Roasted coffee beans are first cleaned, then ground into a fine powder. This is where the flavor difference comes in – roasted coffee beans have a more intense and bitter flavor than ground coffee. Brewing fresh roasted coffee requires careful preparation. First, grind the beans into a fine powder using an espresso grinder or mortar and pestle. Next, fill a pot with just enough water to cover the grains of ground coffee and stir until everything is evenly mixed. Place the pot on medium heat and wait for about 2 minutes for the water to come to a boil before pour it over the grounds. After about 1 minute has passed, remove from heat and let cool briefly before serving!

The town was originally named Pigeon Forge because so many birds were found there during early surveys of the area. Today, most residents refer to themselves simply as "happy" valley residents. Happy Valley was once an important stop on the Oregon Trail because it had good access to resources like timber and water. The town also became known for its delicious smoked trout dishes, which are still popular today.

One of the earliest references to roasted coffee is from a Turkish document from the year 853, which noted that beans were roasted in ovens at an ancient monastery. Throughout the centuries, different methods have been used to roast coffee. The most common method today is roasting in a wood-fired oven. Other methods include exposure to air or heat treatment techniques. The first time that espresso was brewed was in Rome, Italy on December 12th, 1795 by Angelo Bianchi and Giovanni Battista Peroni. This recipe resulted in what is now called “Bianchi espressi” or Bianchi espresso drinks. The first commercial roasts of Arabica beans took place in Germany and Austria in the early 1800s. These beans were grown near Munich and Vienna respectively and were exported to other countries for brewing purposes. In 1825, Johann Georg Bauer began shipping teas directly from his estate to Vienna under the name “Espresso Brüder” (brothers espresso). He soon became known as one of the leading figures in café culture during this time period because he pioneered various innovations including use of filters and steaming machines for making espresso beverages

Happy Valley, Oregon’s history can be traced back to the early 1800s. The first occupants of Happy Valley were pioneer families who arrived in 1847. By 1870, the area had become a thriving agricultural community with a population of around 100 people. In 1882, the town was renamed Happy Valley after the discovery of gold in nearby Butte County. Over time, Happy Valley grew into an important commercial and cultural center for central Oregon. In 1948, Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated in memory of all service members who died during World War II. Since then, Happy Valley has seen a number of progressions and changes that have helped it grow as an important community within central Oregon. In 1951, the first school building was built in Happy Valley. The following year saw the opening of the first store in Happy Valley proper. By 1960, there were over 150 businesses operating in Happy Valley. During this time period, many major events took place which have helped shape the future of Central Oregon’s largest city: The establishment of Central Oregon University in 1961; the construction of Interstate 5 in 1965; and the annexation by Portland of neighboring Clackamas County in 1976). Today, Happy Valley is one of Central Oregon’s most vibrant cities with a population over 1 million residents and counting! The economy is dominated by various industries such as retail trade and services; professional and scientific institutions; agriculture; and transportation authorities (mainly through its role as both a destination for visitors to central Oregon and a key gateway to metropolitan Portland). Most importantly however, elements which make Happy Valley an attractive city are its natural beauty: With rolling hills covered with trees and rivers winding through its neighborhoods – everything feels like it could easily be your backyard!

The1920s also saw a reduction in population growth due to rapid urbanization across Oregon, which caused Happy Valley's population to dwindle even further. In 1978, Happy Valley was annexed into Portland.
