However, the region’s coffee farmers did their best to produce these delicious beans and gift them out as Christmas Presents. Over time, different people in the area have given their favorite cup of Joe a new home by starting their own coffee roasters or buying local specialty coffees from other local farmers. Some of the most famous roasters in Oregon include Rangeman Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, The Bean & Bone Coffee Company, and Ritual Coffee Roasters. Some of the earliest Starbucks locations were opened up by employees at local farms that grew rich from selling bean to customers on site. In recent years, however, many locals have decided to open up their own cafes and roast all-natural beans themselves. Happy Valley is a small town in Oregon, United States. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area and is located east of the Willamette River on the eastern edge of the city of Portland. The population was 2,584 at the 2010 census. Happy Valley was founded in 1887 by pioneers who arrived from Wales. The community grew quickly due to its location and natural resources. By 1915, Happy Valley had a post office and two schools. The town declined during World War II because of military activity in nearby Jackson County and lack of agricultural production; however, it regained some prosperity following the war when development came to the area north of Happy Valley. The population rose to 3,959 at the 2000 census but decreased to 2,584 at the 2010 census due to various factors including loss of jobs in Oregon throughout much of 2001-2010 while businesses closed in other areas such as Seattle and Portland; lower birth rates among Welsh Americans living away from home; and annexation by neighboring Beaverton after Beaverton Community College opened there in 2002
