It became a center for trade and commerce, playing an important role in helping to drive down prices for goods throughout much of California andOregon. Grant Pass is a small town in the northeastern Oregon Coast Range, about 60 miles east of Portland. The community was founded in 1884 by two brothers, W.J. and J.D. Summers are warm with lows around 25-30 °C (77-86 °F) until late November or December when temperatures reach into the 30s °C (85 °F) or 40s °C (104 °F) range for brief periods during May through October; typical winter weather sees highs around 0–10 °C (−12–32°F), typically happening from December 1st through February 7th before decreasing back towards 0–15 cm (−0–46in) over most of March before increasing back up to 25-30 cm (−9-11in) by late May or early June when they start again records milder temperatures until September 5th when they become very cold (-14°C (−26°F)) again until January 1st following their longest period below freezing (-18°C [+.22°]) since WWII according to Köppen standards In summertime there is much sun exposure thanks to generous rainfall throughout year but air temperatures can be quite hot even under umbrellas/shades due mainly to lack of wind shear Intermittent thunderstorms are not unheard of so please bring sunscreen!
