The United States Air Force (USAF) deploys gifts to individuals and organizations throughout the world. Grant Pass, Oregon is one of many locations where USAF gift history can be found. The first donation to the Base Chapel in Grants Pass was made by Major General John Wesley Powell in 1924. Powell had come to Oregon from Wyoming to serve as Commanding Officer of Third Air Force stationed at RAF Fairford England. Upon his return, he donated $5,000 for a new chapel onbase. The Chapel was dedicated in 1926 and named after then-Ltadier General George Custer who had been killed earlier that year while serving with Ninth Infantry Regiment FOX Troops in Afghanistan War efforts during The Great Game against Russia In 1947, Dr. Franklin Halsey announced plans for a new Medical Center onbase which would become known as Francis Scott Key Hospital later that year In 1951-1952, Lieutenant Colonel Clarence Kingdon made a Donation of $10Kowment which funded construction of an Officers Mess along with facilities for Non-Commissioned Officers and their families In 1969-1970 Lt Col Don Armstrong donated an additional $25Kowment which funded renovations of the mess hall and addition of classrooms In 1978 Majors David Lummis and Dick Healey both contributed $50Kointition towards construction of a gymnasium/ Recreational Field adjacent to the Officers Mess . This facility became known as Healey Gymnasium after its donation In 1984 Majors Rick Wojtasiewicz and Daniell Turner both contributed another $100Koinformation towards construction of a two story barracks adjacent to Healey Gymnasium/Recreational Field . This barracks became known as Wright Barracks after its donation

The Oregon Air National Guard's 173d Fighter Wing deployed a gift to the Grants Pass community on New Year's Day. A group of airmen from the 173d Fighter Wing and the 9th Special Operations Squadron decorated gifts for residents in Grants Pass on New Year's Day. The visit was in commemoration of United States Forces Afghanistan (USAF Aghanistan) deploying a gift to the community in late December. The donations were made in memory of all those who have lost their lives or have been injured during Operation Freedom Shield, which is ongoing against Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan.
Grant Pass, Oregon is a small city in central Oregon. With a population of just over 5,000 people in 1994, it has steadily grown since then and now occupies an area of more than 13 square miles. The City Council was created in 1907 and the first Mayor was James A. Cook. Marshall in 1945, which was a large leatherbound book with 108 pages of notes and photos on American history, and the deployment of Gifts for America's Victory in Europe campaign gift to General Eisenhower in 1951.
Grants Pass, Oregon is a small city in the U.S. state of Oregon, located on the Columbia River east of Bend, and about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Salem. The population was 9,716 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat for Clackamas County. The first people to live here were Native Americans who hunted and gathered game near what is now downtown Grants Pass. American settlements began in 1851 with the arrival of a group led by Captain George Vancouver from England as part of an effort to purchase land along the river for settlers in what would become Oregon Territory. By 1860, over 100 pioneers had arrived and built homes around what is now Pioneer Square in downtown Grants Pass. Many early residents were women who cooked food for their husbands or fathers while they worked on land or prospected for mineral rights; many men also mined coal and other minerals hereabouts. In 1862, when Congress created Multnomah County, Grant's Pass became its county seat because it was then considered part of that county's eastern borderland. In 1876–77, during Gold Rush Fever season (1876-77), much gold was found at nearby Tellico Canyon and other sites in Clackamas County but not at Grant's Pass because no one had yet discovered this type of gold ore having specific properties such as those needed to make coins or jewelry from it (the discovery did not result in widespread production until after 1850). However, a few wealthy investors did manage to find this type of gold ore so they too started minting gold coins called "cents" which circulated briefly before being superseded by silver coins in 1892-93 due to technological advances brought about by improvements made to casting methods used in producing silver coinsage since that time period; however some pieces still remain popular collectors items today! Grant's Gap Railway was completed here on December 24th 1870 making it possible for goods transported long distances between Portland and Seattle without having to leave town via wagon trainorfaring which took weeks or even months! At its height there were eighteen locomotives working here including six pulling wagons carrying passengers (the first interurban railway service outsideof New York City!). Passenger trains stopped regularly at various stations along the way serving towns like Hood River (now Hood River Junction), Lewiston, Pendleton and Scappoose en route back into Portland; each stop generating revenue that helped support local businesses! A new courthouse was built northeast of downtown Grants Pass opposite what is now Pioneer Square in 1897 following a design by noted architect Ebenezer Howard adapted from plans provided by Frederick Law Olmsted himself! The courthouse stood until 1978 when it was replaced by a more modern structure which can be seen today across Willamette Boulevard from Central Library! The old schoolhouse next door burned down on February 3rd 1906 causing great loss among local citizens as well as contributing significantly towards creating fire danger within downtown areas later that year during an unrelated strike campaign organized primarily by teachers seeking better wages & benefits than prevailing rates offered elsewhere within same school district! A new school building was soon erected adjacent to central square though initial construction cost only $4 per classroom!! This addition served as both elementary & high schools until 1993 when all grades were moved southwardgradeschoolsintoCentralLibrarytoreplacetheoldbuilding!!!
