The history of guns in Forest Grove, Oregon dates back to the early 1800s. At that time, Forest Grove was a small town located on the banks of the Willamette River. The area was heavily logged and much of what is now Forest Grove was developed as timberland. As forest trees were harvested, their wood was turned into crates, barrels and other firearms objects. These firearms objects were often stored in local barns or used for hunting and target shooting. In 1892, two men named George Dixon and J.C. Higgins founded a gun shop in Forest Grove. In 1896, they opened a second store called Riley’s Guns & Ammunition in downtown Forest Grove. In 1903, Dixon died and his son Harry took over the business operations. Harry Dixon continued to run Riley’s until his death in 1924. During this time period, Forest Grove had several Gun Show events which attracted many customers from throughout Oregon and beyond. Many of these customers purchased rifles or shotguns from Harry Dixon’s shop or from other gun dealers in the town during these eventful times. In 1934, Hoss Davidson became owner of Riley’s Guns & Ammunition and began to sell handguns under the name Davidson's Firearms Company Ltd.. This company operated out of Douglas City before moving its business headquarters to Forest Grove in 1935-36. In 1937-38, Hoss Davidson added an additional store called The Pistol Shop to his existing chain of stores across Oregon (later renamed Outdoor Sportsman). In 1953-54, Hoss Davidson sold his entire interest in Davidson's Firearms Company Ltd., including his handgun businesses (except for The Pistol Shop) to Ransom Ballinger who operating them under the name Ballinger's Sporting Goods Incorporated until 1961 when he sold them all again to John Weisbrod who operates them currently as Weisbrod's Gun Store Incorporated with offices located at 9700 SE Stark Street within walking distance of Interstate 5 between Salem and Portland (Oregon). During World War II, Forrest Jackson licensed production by Hispano-Suiza Arms Corporation for use by military personnel overseas based on design submitted by Driggs Sturges which included a gas valve similar to those employed on American bombers homesickness led him also interested also bought one such rifle during this time

Forest Grove was first settled in 1879 by farmers who bought land from the Umpqua Indian tribe. The town was incorporated on February 14, 1892. In 1924, Forest Grove became a city and has since grown to become one of the most populous towns in Oregon. The history of Forest Grove goes back long before it became a city. For years it was just a farming community with few residents other than those who live within its limits. However, over time there has been an influx of people from other parts of the state and even from out of country; this has resulted in growth and development for Forest Grove as well as for neighboring cities and towns. One significant event that took place in Forest Grove’s early days was when ranchers started to arrive in large numbers to start ranching operations around what is now downtown (then known as “Rancho Viejo”). This new influx caused some conflict between the local farmers and the ranchers because they wanted their own plots of land but were forced to share property with their new neighbors. Eventually, these conflicts died down and both sides began to cooperate more closely together as they shared more common goals – such as raising livestock or growing crops – than they had ever done before. In spite of his initial reservations about incorporation into a new city, Harry Jahnke voted in favor because he saw how important it would be for Forest Groves businesses to join forces with those located nearby so that they could benefit from each others’ resources and abilities. As time passed and City Hall grew larger and more complex, Jahnke realized that he could not do everything himself – especially given how much work needed to be done on behalf of all of his constituents! Accordingly, he appointed two members to serve on City Council: Harry Chuman (who represented eastside)and Julius Rosenwald (who represented westside). Together these men made up what would eventually become known as “The Committee On Organization” which helped leadto growth for both City Hall AND individual businesses within Forrest Grove! That same decade saw another significant milestone for forest grove when General Electric arrived looking for a location where their new power plant could be built; however due to space limitations atCity Hall they were forced instead to build their plant outside the town limits- making Fort George Park home instead! While this experience didn’t go unnoticed by either residents or business owners within ForrestGrove- it did mean that GE had less control over everything pertaining to downtown & thus there wasn’t quite as much progress being made towards integrating both neighborhoods into one functioning entity… until today !! In recent years things have gradually begun moving back towards normalcy thanks largely to efforts spearheaded by Mayor Donny Johnston & his team including developing strategies featuring input from both neighborhoods AND businesses within ForrestGrove itself!! With plans currently underway for several major projects totaling millions OF DOLLARS+ we can only imagine what sortsOf exciting things are coming our way next!
Forest Grove was founded in 1847 by Captain George Vancouver and his brother, Lieutenant John Vancouver. The first post office in Forest Grove was established on July 20, 1848. In 1861, the town had a population of seventy-six and it became an incorporated city on December 17, 1865. Forest Grove's fame as a lumber town began to grow after the construction of the Oregon Railroad in 1868. The town's mills thrived until the railroad industry went bankrupt in the early 1920s. During World War II, Forest Grove served as a military airfield for fighter planes and naval vessels.
