The Air Force has a long and proud history in Corvallis, Oregon. From the beginning of its establishment in 1947 until present day, the Air Force has been providing support for local communities and operations. In recent years, the Air Force has become increasingly important to the community as it becomes more vital to our Nation’s security. The Air Force presence in Corvallis began with World War II when the United States First Army landed here on December 8th, 1941. The air force played an essential role in this war by providing airpower and training troops. After World War II, the USAF was formed and started operating missions all over North America. The USAF operated out of bases throughout Oregon and Washington state; however, its headquarters moved to Corvallis in 1958. At its peak during the Vietnam War era, there were over 100 Air Force personnel stationed here at Corvallis AFB. Withdrawing from Vietnam after that conflict ended brought many changes for the AFB including a new housing development which opened in 1977 called “Air University” now known as Wright-Patterson AFB Annexes 1-3 (AUNX). In 1990, Corvallis AFB became one of four military installations closed down due to budget cuts within DOD - this left many questions about what would happen to these facilities once they were no longer needed by DOD? It was only after much discussion that it was decided that these facilities would be mothballed until a new home could be found for them within CORVALLIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT No 2 (CCC2) - which is now known as Wright-Patterson AFB Annexes 4-6 (AAC4-6). A group of citizens who had championed for AAC4-6 since before it even existed started developing plans for what would become AAC4-6 back in 1992 when they first heard about plans to close down Wright Patterson AFB annexes 3 & 4; however little did they know that their efforts would come full circle five years later when CCC2 agreed to take on AFC4-6! Since then, AAC4-6 has grown into one ofCorvallis’ most successful programs – helping thousands of locals find jobs and contribute greatly to their economy while also fulfilling AF goals such as strengthening relationships with our allies aroundthe world!

The Oregon Air National Guard's 191st Fighter Wing is responsible for the Corvallis area. The wing has a rich history, starting with World War I when it was organized as the 1st Aero Squadron. It flew reconnaissance and fighter planes during the war and later became an operational unit of the United States Flying Service. In 1933, it was redesignated as the 191st Fighter Group, flying Lockheed P-38 Lightning aircraft. During World War II, the group operated from bases in California and Nevada; its missions included antisubmarine warfare, air defense, and ground support operations. After the war ended, it demobilized in 1947 and returned to civilian control until its activation as a branch of The Oregon State Police in 1951. From 1951 through 1966, it operated out of Corvallis Airport. In 1966 it was renamed the 191st Tactical Airlift Wing and activated at Portland International Airport; its mission is to provide aerial refueling services to law enforcement agencies throughout Oregon. The wing has also flown humanitarian aid flights into disaster areas such as Haiti after natural disasters such as earthquakes or hurricanes.
Corvallis, Oregon is a town located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The population was 11,611 as of the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Multnomah County and one of the most populous cities in Oregon. A number of cultural attractions are located within its boundaries, including the University of Portland, which lies within Corvallis' borders.

The USAF gave the RAF its first Boeing 707 passenger plane in 1958. In 1961, the USAF donated their first nuclear reactor to the British Atomic Energy Authority. In 1965, the USAF gifted their first airplane that could land and take off vertically, the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy.
Oregon was acquired by the United States in 1859 and became part of the Union. The region that now includes Oregon was first settled by Native Americans, and the first European to arrive in what is now Oregon was Captain James Cook in 1778. In 1846, Congress passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act which allowed for a wide area of California to be taken up by Nebraska and Arizona, including much of what is now Oregon. This act led to an influx of settlers from Illinois, Indiana, and other parts of the Midwest looking for land to farm. The early pioneers who came to Oregon were known as "flappers," because they frequently left their homes for new opportunities in what is today western Oregon. As more settlers arrived, they started developing different lifestyles and began forming communities known as "rustics." One such community was Corvallis, which formed in 1851 when three men named Fenton, Hargrave, and Miller decided to establish a town on the mouth of the McKenzie River. When word got out about this new town, people from all over started coming to see it. By 1860, Corvallis had developed into a small but thriving community with a permanent population of around 100 people. The early years of Corvallis were difficult due to its location at the edge of an untamed wilderness surrounded by hostile Indian tribes. However, through hard work and determination these farmers managed to create one of America's most successful towns during its early years. In addition to their farming activities, many residents also engaged in fishing or logging – both pursuits that were very important at this time. Over time however, Corvallis began emerging as a center for education and commerce within central Oregon County. This trend continued until around 1910 when World War I made life too challenging for many residents and businesses within the town limits. After the war ended however, things quickly resumed how they had been before: with growth throughout central Oregon County being fueled largely by agricultural endeavors once again becoming popular among local citizens
The city of Corvallis, Oregon was founded in 1859 by Captain John C. Hall, who named it after his home town of Corvallis, England. The settlement grew rapidly and in 1865, the City of Corvallis was incorporated as a municipality with a population of 15 people. In 1870, the city built its first courthouse and jail. By 1907, the population had increased to 150 people and in 1912, the city built its first high school. In 1916, the city annexed rural land to the south for development into what is now known as east side neighborhoods. In 1940, software engineer Forrest Gump moved from Eugene toCORVALLIS and started his own business called Gump's Computer Services Incorporated which became one of Oregon's most well-known companies during that time period.
