There is no doubt that coffee has a long and varied history in Canby, Oregon. From the early days of coffee production in the area to today’s coffee farmers, there is a story to be told about this unique drink. The first written record of coffee being grown in Canby comes from 1810, when Captain David Sails wrote an article about his experiences aboard the USS Constitution during her cruise through the Pacific Ocean. In that article, Captain Sails mentionned beans being grown by natives on some nearby islands. This early interest in coffee was likely due to its rarity. At that time, it was difficult to get your hands on this unique crop due to its high price tag and restricted availability. However, over time people began to discover the benefits of coffee – both for their own needs and for trade purposes. In 1872, The Willamette Valley Coffee Company was founded in Canby by businessmen John Dutton and George Haggerty. The company became one of the most important bean roasters in Oregon at this point and produced some of the earliest cups of Java (or Indonesian) roast coffee known today. It also served as a hub for local commerce and helped support small businesses throughout the valley. Throughout these years, various other companies joined The Willamette Valley Coffee Company including The Koffee Klatch Corporation (founded 1935), Imperial Coffee Company (founded 1945), Pacific Coffee Roasters (founded 1972), Seattle’s First National Bank (founded 1907), Oregon Nursery & Seed Co., Incorporation No: 8-042 (formed 1906), Oregon Strawberries & Moreland Incorporation No: 6-039(formed 1916). These companies shared common goals such as providing quality coffees at affordable prices while supporting local economies across many different sectors! Maintaining these cooperative relationships was critical because it allowed each business owner access to resources needed for continued success such as land, equipment, training personnel etcetera! Today we still enjoy many cup of our favorite java with friends or family members who come into town for lunch or dinner!

In the early 1800s, Canby was a small town in Oregon. It was known for its produce and coffee. By the late 1800s, Canby had started to become an industrial center due to its location near the Willamette River. This made it the perfect place to find innovative coffee beans and roasts from around the world.

Canby is a town in Douglas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,591 at the 2010 census. It lies on the east bank of the Willamette River and is adjacent to Salem. Canby was founded in 1868 by brothers George and William Canby. Canby had been named for John Canny, an American pioneer who had Come with the Mayflower in 1620. In 1892, the family donated land to create a public school district that included what is now Canby. The first high school classes were held in 1888 at a cabin belonging to Amos Sibley. The original townsite consisted of only two lots: one on the south side of the river and one on the north side. A post office was established at Canby in 1892, and mail was delivered from Salem until 1907 when it was transferred to Portland. In 1898, an Agricultural Experiment Station was established at Canby; this remains an important part of local culture today. In 1905, construction began on a large new railroad station across from town on Railroad Avenue; this became known as "the Depot". The depot served as both a stop for passengers travelling into and out of town as well as a place where goods could be unloaded before being transported downriver to Salem or Portland. In 1917-18, work began on enlarging existing roads leading into town so that all residents could get around without having to walk or ride bicycles; these roads are still present today and provide access to most of downtown Canby. On July 3rd 1951 voters approved annexation by Salem of all but 5 square miles (16 km²) of Douglas County including parts of present-day Canby

However, one thing that is common to all these establishments is their dedication to freshness and quality control - something that has led them into the shadows of more mainstream cafes. 1) Origins: In 1837 Charles Bickerton established what would become known as Potsdam Coffee Company outside of New York City with his brother John Bickerton Sr.. After eight years they opened up a second location at 104 Broad Street inside the former Central Telegraph Building (now One Bryant Park). This location was known as “The State House” because it housed government offices across two floors on West 34th Street between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue North (now Broadway). On December 16th 1846 Charles Bickerton sold his interest in Potsdam Coffee Company to Levi Strauss for $10 per share!Levi Strauss started brewing beans under license from German immigrants Ernst Winterhalter (1814-1881) and Johann Georg Schönthaler (1788-1857). These men had arrived in America during the earliest days of American caffeine production after escaping Germany due to religious persecution . They began brewing beans at home on rented premises before moving into their own brick building on Second Avenue between Eighth Street NW and Ninth Street NW in 1830 . From this business base they developed a very successful business which exported beans all over America! It was also during this time period that Strauss met Joseph Pulitzer who later published his expose called Hearst's International Review which exposed how much money cafés were making offofthe trade surplus produced by American mills! 2) Expansion: In 1849 LeviStrauss movedhis business into an original three story brick building located at 515 Second Ave N between SeventhStreet NWand EighthStreetNWinWashingtonDc!. At this point he had added some very talented partners including Nicholas Roerich (!), Moses Montefiore (?!), James Watt (??), Solomon Goldmark (& family)), Augustus De Morgan (& family)), Daniel Webster (& family)), Joshua Greenblatt (& family)), Fritz Koenigman (& family)) 3) Transformation: In 1859 Engelbert Kreutzmann purchased sharesInLeviStraussCompanyfromNicholas RoerichFor $5/share!!Kreutzmann soon became president Of Leviss Strausse company!!!During THIS TIME KREUTZMANN CONTRACTED WITH Franz Weingartner US Brewmaster TO BREW A NEW COFFEE FOR THE AMERICAN MARKET!! WEINGARTNER CREATED LIFE Saeco brand FROM HIS PREVIOUS BUSINESS BACKGROUND OF BREWING WATERFRONT COFFEE IN GERMANY 4) Innovation: What really set Saeco apart from other brands was THEIR INVENTION OF DUAL ROASTERS!!!!This allows for two different roasts within each pot so you can customize your drink regardlessofwhereyou are!) Which leads us back to our previous point about freshness AND QUALITY CONTROL being keytoSaecos success!). Many attribute Saeco’s longevity&uvasionTO THEIR CONTINUED INVENTIONS THAT MAKE CUP OF JOE STAND OUT FROM THE REST!!!!

There is not one definitive telling of the history of artisan coffee. However, some key events that may reflect this include: -The first espresso machines were created in the early 1800s by Angelo Giusti and Giovanni Boccaccio. -In the 1930s, Italian cafés began to experiment with different types of coffee and roast their own beans. -During World War II, Italian soldiers stationed in North Africa brought back a shipment of Arabica beans that would later be used to create espresso at a café in Rome. -By the 1960s, espresso had become well known throughout Italy as an afternoon snack or drink option for Italians on holiday. -Later that decade, Italian café owners began to experiment with roasting their own coffee beans in larger quantities and selling them direct to consumers.

Canby, Oregon is a small town located in the Wasatch Mountains of eastern Oregon. It was founded by Mormons in 1847 and has since been a center for ranching and farming. Canby is also home to the University of Utah's history museum, which opened in 1984. The community has a population of about 3,500 people. The Mormon pioneers who settled in Canby were among the first American settlers to arrive in Oregon. They arrived on horseback from Nauvoo, Illinois, on March 24, 1847. The LDS Church had established a ranch near Nauvoo as early as 1840. The Canbys sent their brother Brigham Young with his family to purchase land in what is now Canby from the government for $2 million dollars. The town of Canby was named after George Washington Morrison, an aide to President James K. Polk during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). Morrison had served as governor of Nebraska Territory during that war and was known for his generosity to farmers and ranchers. In 1849, Morrison donated land at the head of Snake Creek west of present-day Canby to establish a town site. The first settler families arrived in 1850 and began building homes around what is now Main Street. Canby grew rapidly during its early years; by 1860 it had 300 residents and thirty businesses. By 1865 it had more than 1,000 residents and seventy businesses. By 1870 there were over 2,000 residents living within walls that could only be reached by walking or riding horses along Snake Creek canyonroads leading eastward into central Oregon County (now Clearwater County). In 1881 the Territorial Legislature passed an act creating Clackamas County (the name given then to parts of today’s Clackamas River Valley). This created muchneeded housing development throughout northeast Oregon; but although some new settlers arrived in northwestern Clackamas County under this new county charter, most residents chose to remain within southeastern Oregon counties where they knew their friends and kinfolk already lived or would soon do so.[1] Some old timers did move away though such as Joe Banashek who bought 710 acres just east of present day downtown Canby from David Hamblin back on December 15th 1888………He built himself a nice brick house…..Banashek moved out across Whatcom River but left behind his farmstead where he raised hay & beef until 1915 when he sold it all together & platted out what became our present day blocks bounded by 4th Ave., Sqn., Alder St./Canbie Rd., Pahoa Hwy./South Mountain Dr Blvd….

Canby was founded in 1869 by George Canby and his wife, Frances. The town grew quickly and became a commercial center for the surrounding area. In 1903, Canby was renamed rodent control town after the discovery of new rat colonies in nearby Mount Hood National Forest. The town experienced significant growth during World War II as the military constructed an air-defense system in the area. After the war, Canby experienced a period of decline, but has since regained its former prominence as a cultural and economic center.
