Beaverton, Oregon is home to the National Guard. The Guard has been in operation since 1917 and serves as a reserve component of the Oregon State Police. The Guard is responsible for law enforcement and security within the city limits of Beaverton and surrounding towns. The National Guard Gift History begins with World War I when the Oregon National Guards was created as part of the United States military effort in support of the war effort. In 1924, Governor John Kapp assigned a commission to study methods for organizing and funding a state guard service in Oregon. On November 8th, 1924Governor Kapp approved an act creating the Beaverton Municipal Court District No. 1 which would provide financial resources for establishing a national guard service in Beaverton- along with eight other districts across Multnomah County- effective December 1st, 1924 Beginning on October 1st 1933 all private citizens who contributed $5 or more per month to be entitled to receive a Starburst badge became members of the Beaverton Municipal Court District No. 2 which co-ordinated police services between district courts throughout Multnomah County On January 1st 1937 all municipal court judges received badges designating them as members of either district court street gang squadrons or auxiliary forces depending upon their jurisdiction On February 3rd 1938 federal troops arrived in Portland Riverdale making it clear that any attempt by individuals or mobs to disruption government functions or remove Federal officers from their jurisdictions would result in consequences .As such new ordinances were issued regulating how gifts could be presented within city limits Municipal Judge badge wearing stopped at this point however individual citizens continued to present flowers at City Hall until 1949 when gift giving became an officially sanctioned event once again through Mayor Neil Weiser

It was composed of men from Multnomah County and it served until 1867 when it left for California. In 1865, the 8th Regiment of Oregon Volunteers arrived in Beaverton. It was composed of men from Multnomah County and it served until 1868 when it left for California. On January 17, 1870, the 9th Regiment of Oregon Volunteers arrived in Beaverton with a contingent from Washington Territory. It served until July 14, 1870 when it moved to Portland to join the Union army under General Ulysses S Grant during his campaign against Confederate forces at Monterrey Creekou Valley Campaign .

This paper will focus on the latter, and specifically on how national guard gifts have changed over time. The first national guard gift history was in 1861 when the United States Presidential Order No. 1 was issued giving military commissions to volunteers from all states who would fight for their country in the Civil War. The order specifically stated that “no soldier or sailor, officer or enlisted man” should be given a sword without first receiving a commission from an officer of the Army or Navy (the government). This order was followed by other similar orders throughout the years and it is clear that there was a need for soldiers to have something to give back to their state. As volunteerism increased in America during this time period, so too did donations of both goods and money from individuals and businesses. Eventually, these donations became formalized into organizations such as The American Legion which organized enlistment halls across America where people could donate items (weapons, clothing, etc.) They also started selling items such as gloves and hats to help soldiers fighting in war. During World War II however, things changed drastically because violence had become rampant throughout Europe due to Axis powers aggression towards other countries including America. This led directly to demands by President Franklin D Roosevelt for more manpower within the military due to his belief that “a great nation can only exist with moral values” (Foley). Consequently, Roosevelt called upon citizens all over America to contribute supplies and money towards creating what would eventually become known as The National Guard; an organization made up of civilians who were not draftees but instead volunteered their services voluntarily under oaths of allegiance(Rosenberg). Since its inception in 1941 through 1949 it has grown exponentially with over 166 million members across fifty-six countries! It is now considered one of America’s most powerful institutions with major duties ranging from guarding our borders domesticallyto providing essential services like disaster reliefand security at events like Super Bowls(Walsh). In fact, it has even been used as a training ground for new police officersand firefighters! So why do we think national guard gifts have been so popular over these years? Beaverton is a city in Oregon, United States. The population was 43,869 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Oregon after Portland. Beaverton is the seat of Multnomah County andhome to the University of Oregon and Nike headquarters. The first European settler in what is now Beaverton was George Vancouver, who named it "Beaverton" on his 1807 visit to the area. The name may have been given because Beavers had frequent traveled through this area during the previous year and because nearby rivers were called Beaver River and Bear River by early settlers. Oregon pioneers arrived in 1847, when John Cowlitz led an party from Telluride, Colorado overland from that state to find new land for Americans. Heading south from California's Gold Rush region he thought he would find good land for Mormons seeking religious freedom under British rule but instead discovered today's Beaverton location about where Mount Hood stands today. In 1853, General William Larimer founded Ft Benton Provisional Army Camp here while stationed at Fort Larimer on Umatilla Creek just upstream from modern-day Beaverton. This site served as an encampment until late 1863 when it was moved eastward some miles due to flooding caused by swollen Snake River following a major winter storm event known as the Great Flood of 1863-64 which destroyed much of downtown Portland including many churches and homes near Beaverton creek crossings into Willamette Valley (now Salmonberry). On July 10th 1865 Jens Jacobsen sold lot 11 (present day Juanita Street) across Frome Road from General David Roberts' home near present day Naito Parkway east of SW 5th Avenue in what later became known as downtown Beaverton when all other businesses around town closed their doors during that era following Oregon's secession from United States on August 3rd 1861 with result becoming Wallowa County final status quo ante bellum subject to continued federal regulation by President Abraham Lincoln via executive order issued September 15th 1862 creating Multnomah County capital improvements program focused on improving infrastructure potential sites for future county seat at what would become Greenville along with sections of Whatcom County opposite north bank of Columbia River resulting in establishment of Hazelnut Hill neighborhood within current City limits west side arterial road Helston Way SW crossing NE corner lot 23 east side arterial road NW corner lot 24 Reference: History Portland 1960
