Started by a few friends in the early 2000's, this small town is home to some of the most dedicated and experienced coffee drinkers in the United States. The first time I ever tasted tactical coffee was at an event hosted by the local police department. It was a great opportunity to taste a variety of different styles and flavors that had not been available before. The coffee itself was rich, smooth, and delicious – it quickly became one of my favorite drinks. Today, tactical coffee is popular all over the United States. In the late 1990s and 2000s, Portland's coffee scene exploded with new roasting companies and independent cafes that started up all over town. During this time, Portland was home to some of the most innovative and interesting coffee startups in the country. Some of these companies such as The Roastery on 2nd Avenue or Blue Bottle Coffee won national recognition for their unique cup of espresso.
Ashland, Oregon is a town located in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2010 census, the population was 23,752. The Ashland Historic District is a National Register of Historic Places listings for buildings and sites associated with American settler life in Oregon from 1800 to 1940. The first Europeans to visit what is now Ashland were Frenchmen who explored the area in 1795 while on their way southward from Salt Lake City. A log cabin was built by François Clouet on Mount Bachelor in 1805 as part of his explorations near present-day Portland. The first permanent European settlement in what is now Oregon was made at Fort George Wright on the Willamette River in 1824 by fur traders looking for new land to exploit during the Mexican–American War that had started two years earlier. Oregon's Provisional Government organized an expedition led by James Kapp to explore the Columbia River valley in 1827 and discovered Callaway Lake which served as the nucleus for Ashland when it was established as a town on February 19, 1830 by captain John Crampton and six other pioneers under contract fromthe United States government with private investors known as "The First settlers." The town began growth slowly because there were few roads and no water resources available until after 1850 when entrepreneur David Dudley built two miles (3 km) of wagon road between Ashland and Bendigo which allowed goods to be transported quickly across central Oregon without having to go downriver or through saltwater rivers like stagecoach travel did then The first school building was erected at what is now Main Street about 1840. In 1847, Reverends John Wickersham and Elijah Porter opened a school at what is now Wickersham Square which served grades K-12 until 1895 when it became part of Washington High School In 1862, General J M Thompson founded The Second Industrial School which operated until 1945 In 1865, Major General H B Woolsey installed a railroad line into Ashland allowing goods destined for Salem orPortland along with passengers eastbound and westbound via Grants Pass arrived here within minutes instead of days or weeks

The first Tactical Coffee was started by Dan Kahan because he wanted to provide high quality java to his customers. It wasn't until many years later that they began exporting their beans all over the world! Today there are multiple locations across North America and Europe.

Ashland is a town in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 3,023 at the 2010 census. Ashland was founded by George Ash in 1873 and named for the ash tree that grows on the town's main square. The first post office in Ashland was established on December 12, 1875. By 1880, the population of the town had grown to over 100 people. In 1886, Congress passed an act creating Clackamas County and giving it its present boundaries. This county included much of what is now Ashland Township and portions of Portland metropolitan area. In 1907, work began on building a water tower to provide water for the city ofPortland. The tower became known as "The Lady" due to her resemblance to a woman in a painting by Edward Hopper called "The Lady with Diamonds." The tower was completed in 1909 and remain one of the last major public works projects undertaken by Mayor John Hoadley in his mayoral career. Over time, many other businesses were constructed around The Lady Water Tower including restaurants and nightlife venues such as The Pitcher and Hamlet Taverns. In 1959, when Interstate 5 was built through Clackamas County, part of its route ran through downtown Ashland between Second Street Southwest and Ninth Street Northwest (now Fourth Street Northwest). As a result of this freeway construction project, many businesses along Second Street Southwest closed their doors or had their windows smashed during protests against I-5 development near downtown Portland that took place throughout 1960 and 1961. In response to these events, Mayor Hoadley quickly convened a meeting of local business leaders to discuss ways to keep those stores open while I-5 remained operational; this meeting led to passage of an ordinance forbidding any type of disturbance on sidewalks adjacent to establishments located within 500 feet (150 m) of either sideofI-5 construction sites during normal business hours without prior written consent from both store owners/ operators AND 50% majorities from all membersPresent at meeting
